Diary – Sunday 18th January 2015

A big writing day that left me little time for online writing.

I have been invited to present a paper to a philosophy group on the nature of evil. Having already written a short book on the topic, I prepared an edited version of the text as my script for the presentation.

I also started writing the first draft on my second Wendigo radio story, called Wendigo Earth. The first, Wendigo Water is now in script development for likely airing on February 27th by a professional theatre group based in Manchester. The sequel is a first for me in being a direct sequel to one of my own works, and I hope to develop it into a quartet of stories. The latter two will complete the elements with Air and Fire.

Discovered my Mum is losing weight at an alarming rate; though thin anyway she has lost a stone in just a month. At 74 it is rather worrying.

Wow, a paper on the topic of evil? What are you going to talk about?

I hope your mother is going to go and see what the possible cause of her weight loss is and the sooner, the better. PLEASE.

How exciting about your presentation! Is your mother still in control of her faculties - not suffering from dementia? If so, maybe you can ask her what's changed in her routine...I hope she's okay.

First, let me say I hope your mother will be okay. As to the paper you are to present: Are you of the school who believes that evil is essentially just the absence of good, or do you lean more with those who believe that evil is a force until itself in direct opposition to good?

thanks everyone for the kind words on my Mum - she is getting medical advice and tests on this. I'll naturally keep everyone u to date on the situation. Liamleather my angle on evil is that it is the opposite to creativity - evil takes rather than giving thief takes property off you - killer takes life - tyrant takes away freedom etc - creatives give something back, angelaterese13 good point - my mum is quite together - she still drives and works for charity groups as a volunteer - possibly too much - mentally she is very on the ball - she is aware of her weight loss issues and concerned about them herself

About your mum, that IS worrying. Will she be seeing a doctor? And I look forward to hearing more about your story quartet...
