Gay marriage: A different perspective.

For most reasonably minded people, the subject of Gay Marriage is one that doesn't offend, myself included. If you truly love your partner, whether they are of the same sex or different, it shouldn't be an issue. However, some think that marrying someone of the same sex is an abomination, so for their benefit, here is a different standpoint on Same Sex Marriage.

You are waiting in line at a sandwich shop, the person in front of you orders a 6 inch tuna sandwich with cucumber, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. You precede to start shouting at that person and hurl abuse at them because you don't like tomatoes. "You're DISGUSTING, TOMATOES?!"

People look at you in disgust, you are shouting at someone because they like tomatoes.

Point proven, ladies and gentlemen. It is their live, therefore, their choice.

Lol....Tuna fish is gross even without tomatoes. People who have issues with gay rights are like people who tell me I can't have a doughnut since they're on a diet. It just doesn't make sense.

YOU DARE TO EAT A DOUGHNUT WHILST I DIET?! shame on you emoticon :winking: just kidding. Exactly my point indeed, it is silly.

I totally agree! Unfortunately too many people can't think for themselves and have to live their lives, and expect everyone else to live their lives, according to the big book of unconfirmed nonsense, and that doesn't tell you that eating tomatoes is an abomination but it does say that homosexuality is.

I think you are absolutely right, it should not matter what sex they are or for that matter anything, else, people are people in my book they are all equal, I have no problem with gays . its up to you who you choose to be with but its not choice to choose for someone else.

Thank you, I'm of the mindset that I just don't care. I want folks to have a loving relationship with whomever they wish.

Each to their own, everyone has the right to be happy.

I think that at the heart most people do understand and are not so much in opposition to gay marriage as their religions. It seems to be the male decision makers (who are regularly found to secretly feel otherwise) tell their congregations what to believe and feel. Personally, I have had gay friends for most of my life, well no I have had friends for most of my life and some of them happen to be gay
Their god made them that way and who am I to question their god?

I've been a gay ally for a really long time. It blows my mind that people think they have some right to try to control how other people FEEL and who they LOVE. Stop that, you idiots! I'm happy to see people love and care about each other, no matter what gender they are.

This issue is very difficult for some. It flies in the face of scripture they believe to be absolutely true.

Oh how I have giggled at this! No it doesn't offend me in the slightest I have and have had many gay friends and known many gay people,I have never seen them any differently and I don't even think about it. I really do dislike people who have a problem with it though! My dad unfortunately an amazing man honestly but was brought it where it just wasn't okay, and unfortunately he has maintained that view,I have told him time and time again that he shouldn't have that view but he is a stubborn man who won't budge but he wouldn't voice it at all. He would think it but wouldn't open his mouth! I blame how he was brought up I don't think it's because he's nasty or anything. It's those who go out of their way to be vile about it I hate! If you have nothing nice to say and all that jazz!

I'm with you on that one, for sure. Tuna fish? Yucko. There were representatives of many cultures, races, creeds and beliefs in the lines at the amusement park earlier but we were all nattering away to each other, helping the elderlies, the families with tired kids and those with wheelchairs and electric buggies to pass the time while we waited.

Well said !"To those who make such an uproar ,I would like to say,"Live and Let Live",okay? Is it too much to ask.

Sadly, there are people who will rant and carry on because an acquaintance eats meat. They are often more aggressive than a lot of the right wing types who oppose things like reproductive rights and marriage equality.
