When Should I Post?

I can see that this is a site with some room to grow so of course I am keeping my expectations tempered. That being said, I do know that there is a new influx of people to this site. I know because I am also a part of that influx.

So with that in mind I am wondering just when is the best time to be posting to get the most interaction on your posts? How active will people be in seeking me out to follow me?

Mostly though I'd like to know what are the best times to be posting. Does anyone have any insight on that?

Well I suppose i could add a lot more people as well while I'm at it and certainly keep reading all of my current contacts. On that note I must say I am pleasantly surprised at the overall quality.

I only arrived here on New Year's Day myself and do not post a great deal. However, I have noticed a higher response early in the morning, although that is here in the North of England and on GMT.
In reality I simply post when it occurs to me and rarely bother trying to time anything.

I haven't actually given any thought to posting time of day, especially since membership comes from different countries. I usually post, read and comment in the early morning hours before work, then try to log back on later at night to catch up. Otherwise, I'm only here in the morning.

I will be posting in the mornings because I do other things in the afternoon.

I suspect it's the same as with most sites - evenings in the UK, all day long and the evenings in the US as it's so wide and covers so many timezones. Americans are geographically better placed to get seen, but then it depends who your audience is. If it's just readers here, then you need to post when they're around - if you're bringing your audience in (e.g. social media) then when you post on those sites is of greater importance.

We had a lot of UK members join recently, and I notice a lot of activity is in the morning for me (EST around 6-8am since we're in the US) The afternoon's here are pretty slow .

I was actually wondering the same myself as I'm not sure either.

I don't think about this because I have specific times a day when I can post, so I do. I have a little more leeway as to when I can get on and read and comment a bit.

I think posting times and when it is best to all depends on what countries and time zones people are from. I usually just post when I feel ready, and then enjoy visiting others and interacting

I haven't really figured out a best time to be sure, but I notice that for me, it comes and goes in waves. Usually the wee hours and the morning (for me, in the West Coast USA) is busy because there are people from the UK on here. And then later in the early evening I would say.

Yeah I think there is a bit of a 'everyone is on or at least possibly awake now' sweet spot. I noticed that over on Bubblews..maybe same thing here?

SoundNFury wrote on January 17, 2015, 1:25 AM

Very similar, I think. I think there might be more UK people here, whereas Bubblews had a lot from the Phillippines. But I generally post whenever I can. Which is usually in the wee hours, or early evening.

best time of day is different for each and every one of us. I'm in New Zealand, so not many people are around when I'm awake. On other sites I've found the best time for me is two o'clock in my morning, and that just doesn't work.

This is the great thing about PP, it really does not matter when you post. The activity list goes back to three days I think and I can see the names of all the people I am connected with and know when they have posted something.

Being new, I was interested in what people said in answer to this post. I'm hoping to be very active both as a writer and as a reader on this site.

Timing does not matter. When others come online, they can still read and comment on your articles.
