One Very Sneaky Dog
I have a border collie that is just over a year old and it doesn't take her long to figure things out. Several months ago she discovered which drawer the socks were kept in - she has a particular love for socks. Once she knew where they were kept she figured out how to open the drawer by pulling the handle.
However, I moved recently and the type of drawers are different here, they have no handle but a grove. It took her about one day to figure out how to open the bottom one, but up until about a week ago she couldn't open the top one, which has the groove on the bottom, so she'd have to hook her paw under it to pull it out.
I had thought this was a safe place to keep my snacks when I left the room. Well she figured out how to open that drawer now too! But she is sneaky and waits until I get up to do so. Well on top of that one day I had some tortilla chip dip in there because I got up for a minute. The dip is in a jar with a metal screw top. Not only has she figured out how to open the top drawer, she somehow has learned how to unscrew the jar! I have no idea how she did it, but she removed the entire jar from the drawer and took the top off so she could eat the dip!
I've noticed she watches everything I do, so I'll have to be more careful in future!
