Never hammered a nail to the wall?

Hello there guys!

So I have this boyfriend and he never ceases to surprise me at the most weird things. Every once in a while he will completely shock me. Sometimes the surprise is not for a good reason, unfortunately.

I have had this picture panel for a while, and it's supposed to be at the wall but I never put it there because it's heavy and nailing things to the wall is not my strong suit. I'm not sure if it's because I'm left-handed, but the nail always gets crooked and I can't get it in fully. So I thought to ask my boyfriend, being a guy, if he was good at hammering stuff to the wall. Because most guys I know are good at it. My dad used to do this at home, he used to do all sorts of manual work at home. Not being sexist, but guys are usually better at these than girls... Or at least the guys I have known were better.

Much to my surprise, my boyfriend tells me he never in his life hammered I nail to the wall. And I thought that was crazy, how can a 23-year-old guy say he never used a hammer and nails... if you say you suck at it like I do, fine! But never having even tried it? Am I being exaggerated to think that this is absurd? What would your reaction be in my situation?

Some how his not knowing how to use a hammer is not too surprising to me. I am amazed at all the people I run into who for one reason or another never learned simple around the house tasks that every person my age knows how to do, even if they don't do them well.

I've been wielding a hammer for most of my life and I still can't drive a nail in straight to save my life tho emoticon

some guys never did guys stuff in their lives, not surprising. Ask him to try hammer it, encourage him, maybe he is the baby at home.

quite surprising - though by no means into DIY if I see hammers and nails I feel obliged to use them - it's almost a primal instinct

So. does he still live at home with his parents? Most people have hammered nails into the wall to hang a picture or something, if they've ever lived on their own.
