Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom) First Impressions

The only thing I had going into this show was that I heard it is a good series. Judging by its name, it seemed like it would be worth a watch.

The show is about a class of high school students given the task of killing a creature that threatens to destroy the Earth. The students are given leeway to complete this task because the creature volunteers to become their teacher. The students must now take out this monster before the school year ends or else the Earth is destroyed.

Getting right into it, the show sets the tone of no holds barred action in its first scene. Although this does intrigue some viewers, that first scene was pretty much all you get with that fast-paced action. I like the art style; however, the animation seems a little bit lazy. Without spoiling too much, I can predict that the show will be more well-thought-out with assassination attempts as opposed to run and gun type of thing.

Based on what I've seen, I will give this show another shot; it seems to have potential. Perhaps I will do another follow-up review in the future.

Hopefully this helps!

That is a pretty high concept story! I'd like to hear how it develops.

I'm actually completely hooked on that one right now. It's hilarious and I love the characters. Even though the teacher plans to destroy the Earth, there seems to be a connection. He genuinely cares about the kids. His motivation for being a teacher and/or blowing up the Earth is what I want to know. Hints have been dropped so far, and I'm forming theories, but only time will tell.
