I'm going to build a snowman - if I start today it'll be ready by March

Okay. Get out your magnifying glasses or microscopes. Take a good long look at my photo. See those miniscule white flakes? That's what somebody upstairs' idea of snow is today.

When I looked out this morning I got excited. The kids got excited. But what we saw was where all of the flakes had blown over to one part of the driveway. I think it was a collection of all of the neighbors' snowflakes, too.

But, I'm determined that we're going to have a snowman this winter if it kills me.

So, I'm arming myself with my tweezers and I'm collecting every flake. If I keep at a steady pace, my snowman creation will be ready by March 15th. If I work through the night, I may be able to actually complete him by the end of February - when it's still considered winter here.

It took some bravery for me to post this, I'll have you know. There are many folks who've gotten enough snow already this winter that they never want to see it again. This post may anger them. I'll have to watch my step now - I may start receiving snow bombs...

Oh, well. I can just add them to my little, tiny snowman.

Winter has only just begun and I´m sure it won´t be long until you don´t need tweezers to pick up snow.

Haha. Good luck with collecting those snow flakes. We have yet to get one single flake of snow so far this year. It's only the beginning of January so I'm hopeful that we will get some snow before winter is over.

You're right - many others have snow they'd love to share!

Maybe you'll get more snow through the day or the night so you can build a slightly bigger tiny snowman!

I think you're right! I've seen about 12 more flakes fall today...

We have had even less snow! Am I crying about it? No way, Jose. I'm happy about it.

Aha! There's the girl I know and love! So yeah, I'll GLADLY send you any and all snow I can round up in these WV hills and dales, pack it all in dry ice, and you'll have that snowman by Thursday!

Haha! It so rarely snows in Houston that it is a big event when it happens. Hope you get the snow you want for your snowman!

When life hands you snow bombs, make snowmen! When all you get are flakes...buy dandruff shampoo? ;)

It makes me wonder if we'll actually get anything this year - usually, we would have had a little something by now.

The people who are getting clobbered with snow are probably thinking we are crazy...

heehee - I've gotten an offer for some already! I may be eating my words by the end of the winter!

It's crummy when you have to drive in it, but I sure love to see it and play in it. We also love to make snow cream with it!

Oh, to live in those hills and dales! I'd be in heaven! My ancestry is Irish - sometimes I think people inherit a love of their ancestor's lands somewhere within them...

I'd be willing to give up the snow, though, if I could grow vegetables in the winter. But, the winter is young....

lol! You really do have a great sense of humor - you wouldn't have to temper it for me... : )

I was surprised we didn't get any snow this week. I was determined to have a go at making some giant snow marbles (filling balloons with water and food colouring then freezing them, peeling the balloon away and leaving behind a bright, icy orb!)

I really like that idea! I'll have to tell my girls about that - I know they'll want to do that for sure!

That was one of the things that made me so mad as a kid was when the weatherman said there would be snow and no school and that snow never arrived !
