Why does Persona Paper have a like button if no one uses it

This is just a query about the like button on the posts page.

Why is it there as I hardly see it being used, are you supposed to click the like button if you like the post. I see a lot of posts with quite a few visits with good comments but hardly any likes. Do people forget to click it or is there no need.

The likes is the first think I look at before reading the post as I like to see how many have liked the post, seeing a high amount of likes makes the post more interesting. Its a shame when it is a good post and they only have a small amount of likes but lots of visits.

So does the like button matter, do members get paid for likes or is it just views. I am off to read more information on the site but any help would be appreciated

Personally, I use the like button.Even if it is not worth money, if I like a post I click that button.

I also use the like button bu I am not sure whether it pays or not.

I like to see likes on posts, its shows that people have read it and its polite or is that just me

I'm still pretty new here, but I think you do not get paid for likes, that's why a lot of people don't bother. I do, usually, hit the like button though.

The 'Like' button is a courtesy - it generates no income. Because of this I think many people simply disregard it. I believe Admin are thinking of removing it.

I just keep forgetting about it, but I will start using it! Just never thought about it

maxeen wrote on January 11, 2015, 11:15 AM

It doesn't pay but if an article is just that little bit more interesting, or I relate to it, then I use it ..I like it !

karen5416 wrote on January 11, 2015, 11:36 AM

Me too, I like to see lots of likes. just looks better

karen5416 wrote on January 11, 2015, 11:41 AM

Oh right, well if it wasn't there I wouldn't use it lol

karen5416 wrote on January 11, 2015, 11:42 AM

I think I use it because I am so used to using it from the other site

karen5416 wrote on January 11, 2015, 11:43 AM

The more likes the more interested I am , think that's just from using bubblews

Shadi wrote on January 11, 2015, 11:44 AM

I use it when I really like a post. That is PP's strategy I guess for having genuine likes and comments, not only for money.

Old habbits eh!

I don't think we get paid for likes now, which is probably why people don't use it, but I think some still use the like button to encourage the writer. I tend to use like for those posts that really stand out to me

Nar2Reviews wrote on January 11, 2015, 11:59 AM

Whether or not we get paid for it or not, I think it is important to either leave the rate you like OR leave a comment. It is out of respect. Otherwise how are we supposed to maintain a community?

karen5416 wrote on January 11, 2015, 12:02 PM

I have heard they are thinking about removing the like button,

karen5416 wrote on January 11, 2015, 12:03 PM

I agree, seeing the likes on my posts does encourage me, I wish people would use it more

Shadi wrote on January 11, 2015, 12:05 PM

I hope not. I was about to suggest that they make like button for comments too.

karen5416 wrote on January 11, 2015, 12:06 PM

Exactly, it helps to open up communication with each other

For me I like to use the like button and while according PP it is not relevant to earnings, I like to see how many people clicked the button. As my wife would say "I need those ego boos".

peachpurple wrote on January 11, 2015, 1:09 PM

nobody gets paid for the likes, only comments and views are paid. That is why less people click the like button, hope you are clear now.

Louemham wrote on January 11, 2015, 2:16 PM

I think people don't tend to use it much as it doesn't pay, however I do press it if I genuinely like the post

j2401 wrote on January 11, 2015, 4:29 PM

I use the button but I dont think there is any monetary value for anyone in doing so

BarbRad wrote on January 12, 2015, 3:09 PM

Members don't get paid for likes here. They are mostly for feedback, and since leaving the B site, I'm out of the habit of clicking the button. Sometimes I will if I really, really like something. But know one will know it's me that clicked the button. They may do away with the button, but some people like to have it around to click as a way of remembering if they've already read the post.

Hmm...I was wondering this as well. Perhaps people get so busy reading the article that they forget to like it?

karen5416 wrote on January 13, 2015, 2:13 PM

I like the ego boosts too, I like to see a post with likes

karen5416 wrote on January 13, 2015, 2:15 PM

Yeah I understand now but still like to see posts that have lies, shows that people have read it

karen5416 wrote on January 13, 2015, 2:17 PM

I try to click it when I have read a post, its probably habit from the other side

karen5416 wrote on January 13, 2015, 2:20 PM

No you don't get paid, I use it too as I like to let people know I have read it

karen5416 wrote on January 13, 2015, 2:22 PM

I like having the like button, I also like seeing likes on peoples posts

karen5416 wrote on January 13, 2015, 2:24 PM

I think it has been cleared up now. lol
