Whispering Whistling Wind

For all those who don't like poetry stuff ya! emoticon

Whistling wind Spring appears
Sound of distant chat in my ears
I'm loving the sun this day so cheers
Time to open one or two beers

Winter time passed and gone
Robin singing it's very last song
Leaves in gutter brushed along
Is this a new beginning I could be wrong

It is light at five am
Alarm goes off once again
Brake a leg and get up Ged
I would but I feel very dead

Sunny days ahead have we
Walking starts just you and me
Move away from that bloody TV
There's a world to explore and it's free

Grass growing tall out the back
Remember to fill the hole and crack
Fill with weeds the old woven sack
Yet.. it's enthusiasm I lack

I'm off out on my unserviced bike
Probably meet my mate Mike
He goes too fast which I don't like
Next time, why don't I just hike

Wearing a summery colourful top
Glass of wine barbecue drop
Meaty portions and a merry bop
Dancing to Top of the Pops

Headache worn out blistered hands
After digging the garden with two tonne of sand
Flag stone ouch first aid band
Looking at Spring across this merry land

Lambing season jumping for joy
Flat cap green jacket and corduroy
Someone shouts out loud ahoy!
“My niece has just had a new baby boy”

Ged, I'm stuffed. Good one, well I like the verse. You set to become the sites resident poet, or is that poet in residence?

Good stuff. I particularly like the verse about Mike and the unserviced bike.

I'm not sure about poetry but I am sure that others are as good if not better than I am. I always seem to fall down on the humorous side, I just wish I could write something serious.

I serviced my bike about a month ago, before that it was about three years ago LOL

As I was reading this I could imagine the opening of an American series from the past - a wholesome image of peace and happy times

I have to be in the write mood to write poetry, or even verse. Haven't done it for a while. It sounds like you're as motivated to pull weeds as I am, but I have a good excuse -- doctor's orders.
