We should all try and be as honest as children

Walking home from school today with my seven year old, we were discussing the type of day he had, he was explaining in depth as only kids can! we then started talking about the high points and the low points when we found ourselves stood waiting to cross the road along with a gentleman who had a lot of facial scarring.

My son looked directly at him and said 'excuse me, your face looks different, why is that'? the man then spent a few minutes explaining he was in a house fire and burnt his face. My son thanked him for explaining, the man said he was welcome and we carried on home.

I told my son that he shouldn't really ask personal questions like that to strangers and he just looked at me and said ' but mummy, surely its better to ask than to make something up in my head about how he looks'

This has made me think, how simple would the world be if we were all as honest as children?

So true! If only we could be as innocent and as honest as they are. I do see his point and the guy was great to explain to him.

Kids see things in black and white with no middle ground. That is something he will learn as he gets older. What a little sweetie.

Oh bless him I love this! How lovely that the guy stopped and talked to him instead of just ignoring him and walking on

Jesus said in Mt 18,3 that "if we don't change and become like little children, we will never enter the kingdom of heaven". I don't know if he meant something like that you said in the title but it makes sense.
