Life doesn't wait for anyone: How to do what you love and pursue your dreams

Earlier today I saw this video by Connor Franta, talking about a very important issue that many of us forget: Life waits for nobody.

He spoke about a time he met somebody whose family had worked hard and long to earn money, saying that one day, they would be able to enjoy it. They never got the chance. Many of us often are left to do things we don't like, and I don't blame them. What choice do we have? If we like singing, what are the chances we will be able to make a decent living off of singing? In the end, we will most likely be forced onto a regular job. Stuck. What are the chances we will be as lucky as all those singers who have become famous. Millions of singers who are probably better, go undiscovered.

Many of us want to be doing what we love. But we can't, because of a lack of resources or connections. A great author may not be able to get approval from a publishing company and thus, his book goes unpublished. This reality. And even though you know you are not enjoying your life, you can't do anything about it.

I am definitely not able to put a stop to this problem. Nobody can. We still need people to do jobs which keep our world running. These jobs may not be the most enjoyable, but are still an essential component of our society. If people didn't do them, our world wouldn't be what it is today. So, inevitably there will be people who live an unhappy life. But, in this post, I am going to provide some suggestions that I hope will help at least some of you who are reading this, do what you love

The key is that you must have your head set on what you are doing. And everything you do from that point forward must be for your dream. For example, if your dream is to start a convenience store, from then on, save as much as you can everyday to help you start your store and once you have enough, don't hesitate, just start it. You would be pursuing your dream. Never forget your target and make sure you don't do anything to get in the way of your dream. Don't let anyone else get in the way. Do what you must and don't be passive. Don't wait for a lottery to drop from the sky or a bank loan to appear from thin air. Act promptly and everything else will follow. If you are an author and your book is being rejected and you really believe it has good content then don't sit around begging them for leniency; Self-publish your book and get it out into bookshops. Hold regular book readings at libraries to publish your book and act fast. Do anything it takes to get what you want. It will be tiring but any effort put towards realizing your dream is not wasted. Think of the effort you are putting in as an investment. It will all be worth it one day.

So that's all the advice I have got for you. Dreams don't fulfill themselves. You are the one that has to fulfill them. No one else will do it for you. I am completely certain that if you have your mind set on something, you will be able to achieve it, no matter what it may be =). But remember the worst thing you can do for yourself: Sit down and do nothing to realize your dream.
