Lost My Balance Rewards Points

One of my New Year's goals is to get back on track with my walking, and also to get back to tracking my steps on Walgreens' Balance Rewards Healthy Choices program so that I can earn Balance Rewards points.

Between previous and shopping deals, I had collected quite a large amount of points that I was saving for the maximum amount off a large shopping trip. I'd gotten out of the habit of tracking my steps, though, and it has been quite a while since I've entered any walks. I knew it had been awhile since I'd shopped since I'm normally only in there for a good deal and they haven't tempted me with many recently. I didn't realize it had been that long until I logged into my account today to log my steps and found I had zero points.

A check of the Terms and Conditions revealed that an account will be deemed inactive if their card is not used in a transaction for six consecutive calendar months, and points will be forfeited.

It was very disappointing to lose that many points, but I should have read the terms more carefully and stayed on top of it. So now I'm starting over, but at least I have 120 new points just for doing something healthy.

What an absolute bummer - how really annoying for you. I hate it when I do something like that

The sears rewards program points have to be used each year or you lose them also. But I seldom have very many points through them. The card still saves me money with the sales so I am happy with that

I've lost Shop Your Way points, too. I was only an occasional Kmart shopper, but enough to get some good out of them until my Kmart closed. Now the only Kmart I know of in a reasonable distance is in a location I really don't want to go to. I rarely shop at Sears.

Ouch! I'm certain it is not a mistake you will make twice. Good for you for walking today. : ) Did Guiness tag along?

The worst part is I have no one to blame but myself.

What is this you speak of? You get points for logging your walking? Can you share where you got this information. Sounds like a cool deal.

I have found that most of these point things have some kind of catch to them.

celticeagle wrote on January 7, 2015, 8:35 PM

That is a shame but I bet you will have them made up in no time.

That would be very disappointing! I had that happen once when I was without a computer for 2 years. I had a ton of points on DMR (Disney Movie Rewards) and I was saving them up for something for my kids, then I didn't log on for 2 years and when I did get back on, they were all gone.

No, he didn't get off the front porch. He might not get that far tomorrow. It's supposed to be bitter cold.

If you have a Walgreens Balance Rewards card, you can get points for doing certain healthy things in addition to the points you earn in the store. The points can be redeemed in store for discounts. I need to do a post, but I need to refresh myself with the site. I think they have added some things since I last was active.

It's important to read the terms.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on January 8, 2015, 1:10 AM

I hope so. The easiest way, of course, is to buy the things they offer points for buying, but walking costs much less!

You have to be careful about inactivity.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled I was living about 20 miles from town at the time and had no computer at home, so I didn't really have any choice at the time but I am careful about it now that I have constant access.

This is true. In several ways.

It is, the fine print will get you everytime.

That was awful , I hate that happening to me.

It was disappointing. I had saved those points a long time and given up many opportunities to get five dollars off a transaction.
