Would you love to go to Alaska?

I wish I could have gone to Alaska just once in my life. I wanted to go with my adopted mom. She never got to go either, but she did get to Hawaii. I would love Alaska to meet the people there for one. I have seen how sharing they are and they eat from the land and the sea.

One of the things I would love to see is the aurora borealis. The one in the photo here is from Pixabay, but I wish I could have seen it in person. I have seen on TV different colors of aurora depending on the altitude of the magnetic field and how it reacts with the atmosphere, I guess. I’m just guessing on that part, but I would love to experience that in person.

I love salmon, and the only salmon I have had is fresh salmon cut up in the grocery store, but never just taken from the sea. There has to be a difference between the taste of a truly fresh salmon that one that has sit on a shelf for hours or days under refrigeration until it is sold. I also like salmon in a can, but I would love to taste really fresh salmon.

Unfortunately, I'm not the kind of person to go to Alaska. I do not like the cold and in Alaska is very cold.

Yes, I certainly would like to visit Alaska. of course it is quite a few thousand miles from where I live in England, so I am unlikely to visit because there are so many other places to choose as well.

No, Alaska is not for me, too cold. But you are right about the taste of fish fresh from the water compared with what has sat in a shop. I remember having plaice straight off the fishing boat - never tasted anything so delicious!

I have mixed feelings about Alaska. On one hand I imagine that it is a fascinating and unique place, on the other hand I am worried about the cold weather.

I would like to see the aurora borealis but I am not going anyplace cold. Ohio is bad enough in the winter. Of course Alaska has been known to be warmer than us this time of year. Sooo Maybe

I live in Idaho. Lower portion of the state. One spring evening in the late 70's I was driving home from a get together at a friend's house. The sky was beautiful. My young daughter was setting next o me and at one point exclaimed. I looked up and the sky had swirling colors of green shades. It was beautiful and looked just like a aurora borealis. I had never seen anything like it before and never have since.

My parents went to Alaska and said it's very beautiful but gets boring after awhile. There's not much else up there.

Interesting that you posted this, my geology instructor was talking about Alaska and the glaciers that went through. I would hate the cold, but would love the fresh salmon and to see the aurora borealis, then I'd want to go where it is sunny and

Living in Scotland as I do it is also my ambition to see the aurora - despite being keen on the great outdoors I have never seen it.

I would absolutely love to go to Alaska - in fact I'd love to live there! As someone who enjoys the outdoor life I think it would be a great place for me.

By the way your image credits are insufficient. You need to read the FAQs (especially the part about image credits - button at the top of every page) and you may also want to read MaeLou 's post on proper image credits on Persona Paper. You can read it here:

Failure to properly credit images on this site could lead to you not being paid - wouldn't want that to happen to you! emoticon

I have been to Alaska. My Mom and I took a Princess Cruise to Alaska in 1988. We docked at Skagway, Ketchican and Juneau. We saw the glaciers too. It was a great trip. It was a 7 day cruise.
