Putting Away the Christmas Decorations.

Today is Three King's day and, in my house, that signifies the official end of the Christmas season. It's time to put away the Christmas decorations. I've already taken down the wreaths and put away some of the figurines that decorated the tables and shelves. The last to go will be the Christmas tree and the Nativity scene. I always leave the dismantling of the tree to the very end. I will do that tomorrow. I like to hold on to the feeling of the holidays as long as possible.

Although the house is starting to look a little bare right now, and I am definitely going to miss all the colorful decorations , I am glad to get my house back. Let's face it, I need the space that is currently being occupied by the tree. So tomorrow, I will carefully remove all the ornaments, wrap them and put them in their boxes where they will live, mostly forgotten, for the next 11 months. But not to worry. It will be December again before you know it.

I need to start taking things down. WIll leave my "tree" up for as long as possible, but since it is made from books it isn't too much of a problem. I just hate how the living room is so not sparklie afterwards :(

Your tree is made of books? That's so cool. I've seen pictures of trees made of books on Pinterest. I would love to try it one year.

That's sweet :) If I didn't need the space, I might leave them up a little longer, too.

I know what you mean, I put my tree up only a few days before Christmas this year, I was feeling very depressed but decided to put it up for my grandchildren .The day after Christmas I took our tree down but a few piles of the gifts remained because my youngest daughter did not and still has not shown up to open her gifts. I must admit it makes me sad but I need to take the tree down for space also. I am hoping next years Christmas will be better.

It is always sad when it comes the day to take down all the Christmas decorations. Right now, it is nearly Christmas again and the decorations are up and looking pretty.
