More Trucking Adventures!

I the few years that I drove we had been in some interesting places. And in some horrible places. As I think about it, I guess one of the most interesting places was the caves outside of Kansas City.

We had picked up a load of frozen food in Oregon. It was to be delivered to a frozen food locker in these caves. The caves had been an old gravel mine. And they were just a honey cone of passages all through this mountain. When we arrived at the gate the guard gave us a map of where we were to go.

As we drove down inside the caves, there were street signs and signal lights. Just like in a small city. There were all kinds of business along the streets. It took us about half an hour to get to the place we had to deliver.

As the dock hands unloaded us, we looked down in the cave they were taking the load. we could not see the end of the room they were putting the load.

We ask the Dock Foreman how far back in the mountain it went. He told us he didn’t know. He had been here for three years and never been to the end of it.

I would love to explore someplace like that. It would be even better to have it on my own land. I would probably live in them.

Well never heard of the cave delivery before. Most interesting. Wonder how far back that cave really went.
