The Kipling Alexane Shoulder Bag

The Kipling Alexane Shoulder Bag

I was lucky enough to receive the Kipling Alexane Shoulder Bag free from Amazon Vine a few months ago and it quickly became my go-to bag for everyday use during winter. There are 4 colour options available and I have the 'Party Dot Pr P' with its dark background and colour wheels.

The bag is a decent size with a couple of downsides. Being longer, a few items can fall to the bottom and with the zip at the top not rolling slightly down the sides due to the straps, restricts access slightly. This makes accessing the inner pocket a little difficult as your hand hits the end so you can't open/close the zip fully but it's actually not a huge issue.

There is also a zip pocket at the front handy for tissues, note paper etc. I was quite surprised it came with a little zip purse and I love that it includes the key cord as this lets me reach into the bag, grab the cord at the side and pull out my attached keys where they would easily be lost at the bottom.

I can fit quite a decent amount in the bag including purse, umbrella, phone, camera, pen, gloves etc and best of all for the winter winter is the bag is waterproof. I've held mine under a tap for a good few minutes and no water got through.

Kipling bags always come with a monkey (named after someone working at the company). With this bag you receive a black monkey called Davina.

Priced around £42-£55 it is a bit pricey but this is one of those bags that will last - it's very well made and will withstand day to day use and the weather. Highly recommended.

It looks like a nice and handy bag to have. Enjoy it and congrats, a free bag from Amazon, that has got to be nice.

I do get spoilt by Amazon at times. Just glad Vine exists to be able to get some really nice things for free :)

I have a Kipling bag (plus a couple of monkeys) and a matching purse and I love them both. Not in the same design as the one you're reviewing but they are so well made, no matter what shape one buys. I would recommend the Kipling brand to anyone, to be honest.

Nice freebie from Amazon! As I have got older I appreciate a more expensive bag rather than the hundreds of cheap ones I had in my youth...

It sounds like a good investment and a very practical bag! I like bags that last because I get used to how I organize them.

I have a Kipling Alvar handbag which was a present from my parents for my birthday. Mum has one, inspired by her friend who also calls it her 'go-to' bag. I've taken to it like the proverbial duck to water, and because the bags are apparently washable, it should last a lot longer than many of my previous handbags.

PineMartens - just a heads-up on something your are obviously not aware of. Image credits on this site are very important. The one on this post is not sufficient. You need to read the Rules and FAQs - there is a lot of info in there which you need to know. You could also read this post by MaeLou on image credits on Persona Paper. If you haven't already connected with her then I suggest you do so - she is one of the site owners and keeps us up-to-date on site news with regular posts.
