Apologies in Advance for Absence

It may not have entirely escaped your attention that tomorrow the world generally returns to work.

I have been back at since 29 December, giving me 4 days to catch up with what the wants done by tomorrow and send out some asking for other things to be completed by the end of the month as well.

Bossgal is back tomorrow (the Ops Manager) and I am hoping she's left her horrible bad mood somewhere else as it was decidedly trying last time she was in. However also back are all the other members of the department whom I've been trying to reach by email since before Christmas. They may have been enjoying a much needed fortnight's break but mine is yet to begin so while I'm off enjoying myself, they can be dealing with my emailed requests and clogging up my inbox.

I don't foresee much spare time between now and Thursday, so if I'm not here, do not worry. I have a lot to fit in between now and then. I'll be around until the end of the day, maybe tomorrow night, but there is a lot of to get through and the email traffic tomorrow will be high, as everyone responds to requests for information, so I may decide that an evening away from the screen would be a good idea. I do have a Conn Iggulden book to finish, after all.

Eight hours from now, I will meet the library rsearchers again. Although I am working before the official comeback of the students. Vacation of the students now ended. Lol.

Sounds like vacation has now ended, luisga814 yes. Soon they'll be back at work again, like the rest of us. Meantime tonight I must spend some time writing something other than replies to comments.

Wordchazer Well good luck in this new year at work. I have not seen "Horrible bosses" but for some reason your description of yours reminded me of that movie.

Oh, she's not horrible (usually), merely stressed beyond what a normal person ought to be. I hope the break has done her good and improved her feelings about work a bit.

I think tomorrow's bus journey to work is going to be Destination Hell. My husband isn't working tomorrow, but I am, so I have to get myself out of bed at 5.30am and up the road to the stop...I bet everyone else will have the same idea and it's likely to be Sardine Class on there. Ugh.

Ha Ha OK, she is just a little stressed out then. I have had my share of similar bosses emoticon :winking:

I would say just do what you can, enjoy your break, and we will leave the light on for you!

We are going back to our normal schedule tomorrow, with the kids returning to lessons and so I won't have as much computer time as I've enjoyed over the last several weeks but I do plan to check in whenever I can.

I have to spend some time on real work as well. Sadly today that real work is online and I am not getting to it!!

Have a good few days in work I hope it isn't too stressful. I think I'd want a break from the screen to if i had to look at them all day.

Thanks Ali! My husband's best laid plans were thwarted by a water main burst today so he did a fair bit of 'stuff that did not involve washing up or laundry' today. My boss was off with flu so I had a quiet day to get my mojo realigned in peace.

I took the Christmas tree down earlier and started the washing now we have water again. My husband celebrated by doing the washing up. That took us both away from the screen.
