Central heating and skin

I'm sure I'm not the only person that this happens to, but I hate this time of year because the central heating just causes my skin to break out! My hair and skin always feel dried out, even though I always leave the bedroom window open at night no matter how cold it is. I've even tried leaving a bowl of water in the room to keep the air moist (I read that tip in a magazine once) but I still break out in spots :( I hate it, I feel disgusting during the winter!

Does anyone else get this or know of any tips to help? I've tried normal moisturisers, Sudocrem and all sorts. I'm sick of winter now, bring on the summer sun :)

Switch off the central heating? Honestly I can't think of anything else. Do you drink plenty of water?
Sorry I can't be much more help than this and I hope you find a remedy soon.

My skin gets very dry in winter too, my legs look like sloughed snakeskin. I put it down to my age though, but now after reading this realise it could be due to heating, as my skin isnĀ“t dry like this in summer.
