Introduction for Sheilamarie78

I spend my time writing, both online and as a poet and a children's writer. I also enjoy photography and painting. I live in a wilderness setting and enjoy hiking in the mountains with a camera in tow. Many of my photos find their way onto the Zazzle products at my online store. I sell some of my cards along with my books at local shops. I look forward to catching up with some old online friends here as well as to making new friends on the Persona Paper site. You can often find me with a pot of tea by my side scribbling away, either at my kitchen table or at a local coffee shop. But if you want to come to visit me at home, you will have to take a boat or else be a very strong swimmer. That's because I live a five minute's walk from a lake where there are no roads. Let's get to know each other.

Welcome I have only been here for a little while but it is a great site and I am finding lots of nice people. I am enjoying writing here and I hope you do too.

Sounds like an ideal place to live! I bet you rarely get any door to door salesman! lol. I have two kids and I'm wondering if they have ever read any of your books, what are some of their titles?

luisga814 wrote on January 2, 2015, 1:58 AM

Welcome here. Glad to see you here. Hope to read more of your posts in the future.

suzzy3 wrote on January 2, 2015, 5:13 PM

I only really started today properly. I am really liking this site and met lots of old friends and made some new ones.

No, we don't get any salesmen, but we have had the odd unexpected visitor! I published "Tot's Agenda" in the 1980's, which was a combined baby book and activity calendar. It was later incorporated into a homeschooling curriculum. More recently I've published "Fiona the Theater Mouse" and "Treasure in a Mountain Cave." Both are available on Amazon. There are two more Fiona books awaiting illustration. I hope to have them completed soon. They are all chapter books of about 100 pages with black and white illustrations at the head of each chapter.
I'm glad to see you here. I used to read a lot of your posts on Bubblews. I don't think you've been there for a while, though.

Thank you, Oceanblue . I recognize your name and think we have "met" before. I'm glad you're enjoying your time here.

Sorry, I meant to add your name so you know I've responded to you, momathome

So far, suzzy3 , I'm finding it a nice site to write on, as well. I've got some ideas for posts and now just need to write them!

LilyDay wrote on January 2, 2015, 10:23 PM

That is a good setting in which to live. Unfortunately, my boyfriend is a bit more city-oriented.

Welcome to the site.

momathome wrote on January 2, 2015, 10:27 PM

Sheilamarie78 I've been there off and on but with all the changes in payrates, I've been spending most of my time on other earnings sites plus I took a lot of time off last year because I needed a break after the pace I had been working almost non stop for 4 years when my husband was out of work.

I'll have to search for those books on Amazon. I just bought a bunch of new ones for Christmas but I'll add them to our wishlists and when we are ready to buy new ones I'll get them for the kids.

momathome wrote on January 2, 2015, 10:28 PM

Sheilamarie78 One good thing about the reply system here is that we get the notification even if you forget to add the username (which I frequently do myself, lol).

Sheilamarie78 wrote on January 3, 2015, 12:04 AM

Thank you so much! That's really nice of you. I hope your kids enjoy them.

Sheilamarie78 wrote on January 3, 2015, 12:06 AM

Thank you, LilyDay for your welcome. So far, so good. It's important to choose to live somewhere that both people enjoy.

momathome wrote on January 3, 2015, 12:40 AM

I couldn't find treasure in the mountain cave but I did find the mouse one and there was another on your artist page which I'm now following.

LilyDay wrote on January 3, 2015, 12:53 AM

I think we have managed to strike something of a compromise for now. I'd like to get a tad more rural, though. I have visions of chickens and goats. emoticon

I envy you for your lifestyle. I live next to the industrial park, and nobody likes to see factories and shipyards in postcard.

I am glad to meet you and welcome to Persona Paper. I plan to be more active here.

if you want to tag a particular name Debbie , you have to use an ampersand followed by the username. Hope I help you.

I love the description of your home setting! It's a complete 180 from the urban cacophony I live in. (tinge of envy lol).

Sheilamarie78 wrote on January 7, 2015, 2:47 PM

No, I didn't see that. Thanks for the nudge in that direction.

Sheilamarie78 wrote on January 7, 2015, 2:48 PM

Well, we have probably joined at around the same time, &srthurchappell .

Sheilamarie78 wrote on January 7, 2015, 2:50 PM

But we have met before on other sites, LadyDuck . You were one of my loyal connections elsewhere. I hope we keep connected here, too.

Brenda wrote on January 7, 2015, 2:55 PM

Its you the owner of Zazzle Sheila. So glad you are here. We love our 2015 calendar mouse pads I ordered us for Christmas. So does my hubby. Bravos!

Sheilamarie78 wrote on January 7, 2015, 3:39 PM

No, I don't "own" Zazzle, Brenda. I just have some stores there as I design some items. That's how that site works. People open up their own stores where they post items they have designed. You can make things just for yourself or you can share your designs with others. I don't think you got mouse pads from my store, have you? I have made them in the past, but I don't remember doing any calendar one for 2015 (unless the site automatically updated my calendar mouse pads from last year).
I'm glad you're enjoying your Zazzle mouse pads, though.

BodieMor wrote on January 7, 2015, 9:55 PM

What a romantic setting in which to write! Lucky you! emoticon

BodieMor wrote on January 7, 2015, 9:59 PM

Did you do the illustrations for your books?

Sheilamarie78 wrote on January 10, 2015, 1:28 PM

That's right -- the Treasure one isn't on Amazon yet because I made some changes in it and am still waiting for the final proof so that I can approve it for sale. I should be able to do that within the next couple of weeks. The other one is my poetry book, I'm guessing, or else it's the study guide to Fiona. Thanks again for your interest, momathome .
