My first post so I'll make it about cats!
When I first met my husband to be, you could pretty much say he classified himself as a dog person. He had owned German Shepherd dogs in his previous relationship and his only experience of cat ownership was one which his mum owned after he left home.
All this changed when he met me!
When we first met, I had two cats, Bess and Lara. Bess was a black oriental short-hair and Lara was a tortoiseshell moggy. They had both lived with me for a couple of years and were like family to me. When we moved house to somewhere bigger, my cats were my first priority when looking for a new place to rent. The landlord had to be OK with animals. Luckily we found somewhere which was suitable and with a friendly landlord, so we moved in, cats and all. We acquired a kitten along the way called Mystique or Misery as she came to be known. A fluffy ball of grumpiness, who hated children which wasn't really the best place for her when we had 3 children. Eventually we rehomed her to someone else and she has settled in wonderfully there.
Next came Mo, the Havana oriental. He had been malnourished by previous owner and was not in great health when he came to live with us but we built him up. We got Jake, a blue point Siamese as a friend for him and they became best friends. Sadly, Mo's health problems got the better of him and we had to have him PTS. Jake was lonely so we got Oscar. Oscar was a snow spotted Bengal who was a ham bandit and wanted to be an outdoor cat if we would let him. He ran away by jumping out of one of the bedroom windows and was never seen again. We had another kitten called Meeya who, it seemed was another grumpy one. She just was not cuddly or playful and didn't seem to like being a part of a multi-cat household and went to live with some friends of ours.
Casper arrived in June and he is a cinnamon oriental, followed by Mia and Sidney, brother and sister Siamese crosses in October. So we now have 5 cats... and my poor husband has increased his cat experience by 10!
