Lack of sleep, or if you are under stress while your work out, then hormones play up by retaining water. Due to water retention, the workout fails, and you get more stressed and there go your efforts in drain.
But the fact is that if tried well and by following rules anyone can get six pack abs. Many times, we meet people who work out regularly, take controlled diet but still they fail to get six pack abs and on the other hand there are people who have six pack abs without any work out, even no control on what they eat, so the time period and efforts differ from person to person.
