Dog Walking Without A lead-Why?

Rain is so good when it lashes down, the dogs pull back, they are not mad about it but I love it and the main reason is that it keeps the nuisances (scallie's) indoors.

You know the ones I mean! Those who have huge frightening dogs which are always off lead and just love to pounce on other dogs who are on leads.

Not the dogs fault as they are trained to be menacing to all around them.

This morning I was out in such weather, and thought this is so great, not a soul in sight. Suddenly a white (sorry) American Bull Dog appeared from nowhere, and two minutes passed, which seemed like two hours, and the white dog edged up to my two Boxer dogs (girls). A skinny bloke appeared and gave some sort of order to his dog which was a second away from scrap mode.

I was glad I had the girl dogs with me as I usually take the two boy dogs ,it could have been a different story. A man with a little pooch came over and told me that the same dog had chased a little girl and jumped up at her knocking her down.

What is so terrible about keeping dogs on leads?

There should be a rule about dogs being let loose like that - White or black (lol)

Haha ! well done on that observation. I remember when we had lots of park wardens patroling (we called them the 'Parkies')

I always kept my dogs muzzled and in a harness and people would let their dogs run up to them and call out "it's alright, it's friendly"...maybe theirs were, but mine weren't....Idiots!

It is the law here in most parks that dogs must be on leashes, but most dog owners seem to think this doesn't apply to their dog.

The owners are aggressive, that's why the dogs are aggressive too.

See? it should be perfectly acceptable to occasionally slap someone upside their head. The guy without the lead, he'll be the first one to gripe if his dog gets hit by a car.

Once there was one who pulled a knife and threatened to kill us all and if that wasn't bad enough he called a gang on his mobile-a couple of years ago !

They are just thickos ! I am sure they don't keep these poor dogs when they get a bit mature..

i know! why cant owners keep theirs dogs on leaches. this keeps them in control, and does not allow their animals to disrupt other little dogs. or even people.

Everyday I get pulled around because these owners think they are smart to let their dogs wander, and annoy people who obey the law by keeping their dogs under control.

I will admit that way back when I had a dog, in it's 13 years of life it spent approximately 3 hours on a leash. Today if I had one, I'd have it on it more often. It's just different times than 20 years ago

There have been problems around here as well with unleashed dogs running riot. Sadly, one little dog lost his life due to being attacked.

That's not right and it happens too often.
