Popping Color in Photos

I used to dabble in photography and photo editing. The article image is one of the first I ever took and enhanced with color popping. It's of my daughter when she was 5 or 6 and I remember how much time it took me to get the layering and color popping right. It's probably not perfect, but I was proud of myself for learning how to do it on my own (Note: I normally wouldn't post pics of my kids on a public forum, but it's the only one I have on hand of my color popping and no useful information can be gleaned from it).

It is my image

Anyway, recently I discovered in the windows 8 store that there is a new program that makes color popping super easy. As it stands, it won't allow for professional quality of color popping- but it's nice to see that some things have been made easier. If they make minor improvements to the program (It currently can't zoom in on the picture when editing for instance), it could cut my photo editing time (well, color popping time) down a bit. I don't need perfection, but I'd like to get close.

This may not be a new thing, it's just the first software I have found that does it automatically. I almost wish I would have found it sooner... almost. I still prefer doing the work with Serif (what I used for the pic above). Anyway, If anyone is curious to check it out, it is called Fotor Color Splash Studio. Let me know what you think of the program and how it works for you. Also let me know if there is another software out there that makes color popping simple.

You have edited it very well. It's charming with her in front, and the black-and-white background of Mother Nature.

CelesteSashin I don't do this kind of photo editing, so I can't comment on this program, my editing tasks are limited to crpooing the pics, and probably adding a couple of effects. I am learning to use GIMP, it is a very complete yet complex program, but it is free. Will find out if it has color popping capabilities (I think it should)
