One Care Package

Well, one care package was mailed off to Chicago today. I almost forgot to take it with me when I left the house this morning. Oops. It has been ready for a few days. The nearest post office recently had its operating hours reduced drastically, so I had hoped to be able to get there before it closed. On the way there, I tried to remember if Saturday was a day that this post office was going to be closed altogether. Nope, it was open and I had an hour to spare. The package should arrive at its destination by the end of next week. In this care package were some practical things: notebook paper, pens and cough drops. Also included were fun things, like cocoa mix and chocolate kisses. Both of these tasted good; I tried some before I sent the rest. The only thing that I forgot was a warm hat. Well, I will have to make one to send in another package. Maybe some mittens and a scarf, too.

What is this one care package? Who will receive it?

The care package is a box of goodies and a few necessities for a college student. The organization (Lawndale Christian Legal Center) supports students who come from an area that has a very low (40%) graduation rate. I do not have any more identifying information, so I can not tell you who the student is.

That is good. At least the poor students will not feel so leftout in a world of celebrations and goodies.
