National Bathtub Day

Today is National Bathtub Day. I am not sure what this is all about, but it might have something to do with the weather being cold and dark in the Northern Hemisphere. Most likely, it has something to do with Prohibition. Prohibition went into effect on the 17th of January 1920. Forty six of the then forth eight stated ratified the eighteenth amendment. Connecticut and Rhode Island were the only two hold out states. On the 5th of December 1933, the twenty first amendment went into effect, thereby repealing the eighteenth amendment. The du Pont and John D Rockefeller, Jr families were among the wealthy families behind the push for repealing Prohibition. Cheers!

This is a silly day. Many families in the world do not have bathtubs.
