While browsing through the Writing category here on Persona Paper, I have noticed that the topics include writing for and about online forums. This got me to wondering if I am one of the few people that writes a letter to friend, puts a stamp on the letter and sends it off in the mail. Mailing as in going to the post office kind of mailing. Maybe it is just that there are not very many people who do this any more, or maybe the issue just has not been written about in an online setting like this one. Some of the letters that I receive come from most of the world away -like Japan. And I live on the east coast of the US. Others travel a neighboring state - roughly a 2 1/2 hour drive. Does anyone else enjoy writing and receiving letter in their mailboxes?

I write to a friend because she loved to get letters and cards. She does write back from time to time.

Old fashioned pen and paper writing seems to be a dying art. I can't remember the last time I either wrote or received a handwritten letter from anyone.

The only thing I write is cheques - this too has become rare what with e-banking - and check lists. The art of writing letters is dying. I feel like doing it. In fact I did write a letter for all PPers and uploaded it here.

Right now I do not think anyone has the time for it. It's easier to chat online through skype

it's been ages I received a mail box letter. I used to when my grand ma was alive as she never missed writing me per month
