I Have Ant Damage!

I just had my annual inspection this afternoon, and got some bad news. There is no visible sign of termite damage, but the guy did find where had eaten away some of the wood underneath an improperly installed gutter. I'm going to need to have someone repair the damage, replace part or all of the gutters, and have the house treated for .

I'm glad he persisted in finding out what was going on when he noticed something that looked a little odd. He spent quite a little while trying to figure it out, and I'm glad he found it before any more damage was done. But I really didn't want another big expense coming right on the heels of all the money I just spent at the dentist.

Oh golly! Sorry about your ant problem. Seems like it's always something, right? I had an unexpected expense too just recently. Time to write more!

Too bad you cannot send the bills to the ants. They cause all the trouble, they should pay for it.

Last month it was a huge dentist bill, with two more dental issues still to be taken care of. Now this. I need 20 more hours in the day to write!

That makes sense to me!

Ant problems need to be tackled soon. Hope the expense would not be large

It's always something. Sorry to hear you have this going on.

I understand about the more hours to write, lol. Hopefully I can kick it up and get more posts on the various sites I use. That new stove won't pay for itself, LOL.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's always a blow when we discovered something that will cost money to fix. At least only the pocketbook will feel this pain, though. No drilling in your mouth.

Me, too.

You're right. There's always something.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on December 4, 2014, 11:56 PM

Hopefully it was caught quick enough that there isn't much damage.

Ants eat wood, too? Och, those little bastards. :(

When he moved the siding, I could see the damage from the ground--several inches worth.

It is hard to cure termites. They are a big problem when the house is infested by them

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on December 8, 2014, 12:41 AM

It wasn't termites that caused the damage, but ants, which aren't covered under my termite warrantee . They'll need a different treatment.

It is good you noticed the problem early so you can fix it. A stitch in time, right?

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on January 1, 2015, 11:24 PM

I hope so. I hope to get it taken care of soon.
