My Latest Box, by Guiness the Cat

Hello, this is Guiness the Cat, and I just wanted to show you the latest box Debbi brought home just for me. She was even considerate enough to stuff it full of clothes that she is packing away to try to sell at a yard sale in the spring. They make such wonderful padding! It's all nice and comfy. Wasn't that considerate of Debbi?

She didn't even turn it up on it's end like she did my last box of clothes. Some silly notion about not getting cat hair on the clothes that way. Don't tell her this, but I like it like that because it makes my perch higher, and as any cat will tell you, higher is better.

Debbi brought me four more new boxes home from the store today. I hope she finds more clothes to put in them.

Sincerely, Guiness the Cat.

P.S. Debbi came home tonight and started complaining about cat hair on clothes she wants to get rid of anyway. Never mind what I said about not turning my latest box on end.

Dear Guiness - it sounds like Debbi is pandering to your every need and building up a set of box beds - one for every day of the week. You certainly have her right under the thumb you don't even have! :)

Dear Guiness,
Human 1 and I have applied to write here. We hope they will let us in. If they do, we can exchange notes on our respective piles of clothing. Mine are not in a box. They are currently a heap on the bedroom floor and very comfortable. I am hoping they will not be moved. Your Blogging friend, Freya the Catblog Cat.

Dear Freya the Catblog Cat,

Meow, and yay, yay, yay! I'm so glad you're here! I don't mind a bit getting paid to exchange notes with you! You're going to love it here. We have all the best things that you're used to (or used to be used to), without all the not so pleasant things. I'd be doing the happy dance right now if I weren't so intently laying on my box of clothes. That's very important, you know, especially as Debbi keeps muttering something about where is she going to put all these boxes. I personally don't know what's wrong with right in the middle of the living room where they are now.

Sincerely, your friend, Guiness the Cat

This is Guiness the Cat. I think Debbi needs to go back to the store and follow the egg lady around, waiting for her to empty more boxes. Who cares about the eggs in them? Just dump them anywhere.

The human fondness for order and decluttering can, I imagine, be the bane of the feline world.

This is Guiness the Cat. One could say that my human is fond enough of it. While I'm a little concerned for my comfort, I'm not overly worried at suddenly waking up to neatness and order.

I could never give you full run of my house. It would be dangerous for all concerned, since my house is full of tall stacks of books you might be tempted to climb on and they could fall. I wouldn't like that, even if you managed to land feet first. Of course, if you'd be content to just lie on the tall stacks of book boxes and stay off the unboxed books, I might let you in.

Guiness, the Fuzzy Trio say that it is perfectly logical to sleep in boxes (or suitcases or hampers) filled with clothes.

This is Guiness the Cat. I love suitcases. I don't know why Debbi keeps making mine so inconvenient.

Guiness, I must confess that I am on the brink of taking away the Fuzzy Trio's last suitcase. I've had it in here for too long; I need to fill it with some excess stuff and cart it off to storage.

Tiny spaces don't allow for many extras like that-- not even for feline entertainment.
