Over the river and through the woods ... or at least just down the street!

We all know the song about going over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house. Aaaah, if only I could go to Grandma's house. She made the best turkey and stuffing I've ever had.

Of course, it is a memory, and memories have this way of being more spectacular that the reality. At least sometimes. But in the case of my grandma's turkey and stuffing? It was definitely tops -- made with San Francisco sour dough bread!

Grandma has been gone many years now, and I'm the grandma. Not that I feel like a Grandma, but that white hair in the mirror says I must be! And since my Grandma has passed on, and it just so happens all our kids are elsewhere this Thanksgiving, we're going just down the street, to celebrate with friends.

Bless their hearts for being so kind!

I hope y'all have a great time. I miss my Granny very much. She was a great cook as well.

We have friends like that too, with whom, in years to come, no doubt we will celebrate Christmas as well as the New Year celebration we currently enjoy. It'll be fun to see them, as we've all been working very hard this year. Hope you have a happy Thanksgiving celebration with them.

I wish you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. How nice to be invited to friends' for turkey day.

I always sing that song at Thanksgiving. It seems that no one knows it anymore. I don't know what is happening to this world.

I'm guessing it's not taught in school anymore. Too bad, though, because it's so cute.

That's interesting. Maybe it's because Thanksgiving isn't as important to kids?

Hope you had a good one, too. We had a really good time!

Had a great time, thanks. Do you think most grandmas are good cooks? At least those from many years ago?
