Until You Have Walked In My Shoes

Walk In My Shoes

Have you ever heard of that expression " Until you have walked in my shoes" you don't know what I am going through"? I am sure we all have in one time or another we probably either said it or felt that way.

I remember when my son was critically ill in the hospital off and on for three months as a young teenager. My two youngest were still babies at the time being a year apart. I choose to stay at the hospital day and night with my son because I felt that he needed me the most although my children were still babies and they needed me too. It was so hard for me, but I had to stay with my son.

My children meantime stayed with their father and babysitters. It broke my heart to hear their cries coming from across the street because they had to leave the hospital from visiting with their brother and couldn't be with their mother. But what really added to my pain is to hear others criticize my decision on staying with my son, stating that my babies needed me too, which is true but I did what I felt I had to do. It hurt me, it really did; and I thought what would you do if it were your child?

Until you walk in my shoes you don't know.

No Mistakes

God saw in my heart why I choose to stay with him day and night and the reason behind my decision.

My son later told me that he was afraid to die alone. He needed me and that assured me that I did the right thing.

The doctor made a serious mistake that could have been a life or death situation if I had not been there he would of died for that mistake alone.

There was a reason for me being there not just as his mother but God knew that he needed me and I followed my heart. Glory to God he is still here today as a fine young man.

Never Judge Another

"Until You Have Walked In My Shoes"

Never judge another when they are going through something, because you will never know unless you have been there yourself, what you would do. Even then everyone is different and reacts to the situation in their own way. It is not for us to judge a person's actions only God knows and see's beneath the surface behind the action.

John 7: 24

Stop judging by mere appearances and make right judgement.

A lot of times we think we know but we don't. When my mother lost my father a sister in Christ remarked " I thought that she was a strong woman of God" All because my mother choose to stay away she was grieving for goodness sake. Words people say can either bless someone or hurt someone.

James 3: 5-6

5- Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.

6- The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire and is itself set on fire by hell.

Judge Not Or You Too Will Be Judged

Pray For One Another

Let us pray for one another and if our opinions are hurtful then let's try harder to keep them to ourselves. I speak for myself too.

"Until You Have Walked In My Shoes"

To walk is to conduct oneself or behave in a particular manner; when a person is going through something this is the time to pray for that person because those are the times that person needs us the most.

James 5:16 Pray for one another, that you may be healed.

James 5:13 Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise.

Prayer moves mountains if we would spend more time praying for one another and less time talking we would see more change in circumstances by our sincere prayers and concern. When someone is down lift them up, there may be a time when you will need lifting up too.

Mark 11:23-25

Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Father I pray in your Son Jesus name help us to keep our opinions to our self if it isn't edifying the other person. Let us instead pray for that person and only speak blessings over their circumstances because we just never know. "Until You Have Walked In My Shoes"

Amen! Lorraine

That must have been a very, very hard decision to make. Thanks for sharing...and you are so one should judge another till they have walked in that person;s shoes.
