Friends of Persona Paper Week 2 November 2014

Persona Paper has been growing -- hurray! -- and that means lot of new members to the site.

For those who have wondered, or are brand new to the idea, I wanted to explain

the Friends of Persona Paper Challenge.

The Friends of Persona Paper Challenge originated in August 2014 from the creative mind of suffolkjason .

You can read the launch post here: Friends of Persona Paper -- The Launch !

Basically, the challenge is a number of goals to which the Friends of Persona Paper (FOPP) have taken up and continue to strive towards each month:

1. Visit Persona Paper daily

2. Spend at least 15 minutes onsite with each daily visit, reading and commenting

3. Post at least 30 articles each month

4. Promote worthy content on Persona Paper via social media, etc.

5. Strive to recruit new members to Persona Paper

6. Tag each post you write with so it can be easily found.

Whew! That seems like a lot, doesn't it? That's why it's considered a Challenge.

Do all the members of FOPP reach each and every one of these goals each month?

Likely not, but each goal propels us forward.

Friends of Persona Paper was initiated both to help the site grow and to aid each individual member to grow a library of posts. As members of the site, we all benefit from the growth of Persona Paper.

How about you? Would you like to take up the challenge?

It's an informal group, no judgments, but often encouragement of one another and a supportive atmosphere

as you'll find throughout Persona Paper.

If you're interested in participating in the challenge, just leave a comment below and you're in!

A thank you to SLGarcia for doing the group the honor of being clerk for October. December is fast approaching -- would anyone like to volunteer clerk?

Thank you to Kasman for taking your time and energy to put together information about site membership numbers. If you're interested in the latest information, you can read it here: Site Statistics

Other than that, are there any suggestions for updating any of the FOPP challenge goals? Any additions? Your thoughts and ideas are always welcome and will help to keep this challenge fresh and ongoing.

Ah yes, I am once more reminded of what a giant slacker I am :D

Feisty56 wrote on November 14, 2014, 2:13 PM

Oh, kiddo, don't think of it like that. Know you are in a fairly large crowd of others in the same boat. That's what Friends are for. : )

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on November 14, 2014, 2:27 PM

I don't make it around to everyone as often as I would like, but I love it that so many of my favorites are participating. It makes it very convenient. Lately, I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone more.

Feisty56 wrote on November 14, 2014, 2:31 PM

I know what you mean. I enjoy keeping the current friendships going, but am also opening myself to new interactions.

I hope your mouth is less sore today and that the infection is soon gone and does not return.

MegL wrote on November 14, 2014, 2:48 PM

It's good to get reminded of what helps us AND HELPS the site

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on November 14, 2014, 2:52 PM

Most of my soreness seems to be in the jaw from the tugging and pulling and pressure (it was the very back tooth and I have a very small mouth). The tooth itself has never hurt, not even last year when it broke off. I just tried eating chicken a la king, and that was a little uncomfortable, but not too bad. Now that I can eat warm foods, I think I'll probably stick with soup for the rest of the day. Mostly, though, it wasn't too terribly unpleasant except paying for it.

Thanks for the good wishes! I appreciate it.

I always forget to tag my articles! I have been slacking a little this month so far, its been a busy few weeks and I start back at work tomorrow - the joys, but I have to pay for my newly needed new tire somehow. December is a busy month for me, but probably not as busy as it is for folks with kids and grandkids to spend time with - I can do December if no one else wants to, just let me know what I have to do.

LoudMan wrote on November 14, 2014, 3:29 PM

I always forget to tag, too. Haha. Some day I'll learn.

LoudMan wrote on November 14, 2014, 3:33 PM

I can't volunteer. Sorry,

Feisty56 wrote on November 14, 2014, 5:34 PM

Yes, I sort of view the updates as cheerleading. If it brings a funny image to your mind, go ahead and imagine me in red and white with pom-poms waving. : )

Feisty56 wrote on November 14, 2014, 5:35 PM

Thanks for volunteering for December -- if you get in a bind, let me know and I'll try to take up the slack. I know initially we were posting an update every week, but to my way of thinking twice a month is sufficient. Any thoughts on that?

Feisty56 wrote on November 14, 2014, 5:36 PM

That's okay. : ) We know you have a lot of irons in the fire.

frenchtoast78 wrote on November 14, 2014, 6:37 PM

I wish I could take up the challenge but judging from my schedule, I'm not sure I could keep with this. But I really wish to join this challenge, so I will try. I'm going to right down on my filofax the goals and see if I could do them. I will start from Monday to take up this challenge, since I'm just exhausted and I needed this weekend to take a rest. Thank you for sharing this.

melody23 wrote on November 14, 2014, 6:38 PM

I guess it depends on the level of activity, twice a week is probably fine but then if there are lots of new members they might wonder what all the stuff is about. I will maybe try and think of some Christmassy stuff we could do

celticeagle wrote on November 14, 2014, 7:23 PM

Interesting challenge. I hope to do some of those things. Not sure I would do all of them though. Enjoy!

Dawnwriter wrote on November 15, 2014, 7:09 AM

I think it is great commitment and kudos to all those who have kept the site alive and vibrant. Can I be added to FOPP list? I am sure I won't meet all goals but I do like to write and interact on a fairly regular basis.

Ellis wrote on November 15, 2014, 11:51 AM

celticeagle and Dawnwriter even if you can't commit to everything...every little bit helps....so don't let that put you off joining...

SLGarcia wrote on November 15, 2014, 12:42 PM

You are very welcome! Thank you very much for taking on November - you are definitely a trooper!

celticeagle wrote on November 16, 2014, 1:50 AM

I will certainly keep that in mind. Thank you.

Feisty56 wrote on November 16, 2014, 11:34 AM

Like most of us, you sound as if the goals are worthy to try to attain. There may be a few of us who reach each of the goals most of the time, but for the most part, the goals are simply something to keep us motivated. Happy to have you take up the challenge with us. Do the best you're able because life does come first. : )

Feisty56 wrote on November 16, 2014, 11:36 AM

The truth is, I'm not sure any of us who've accepted the challenge have ever reached all the goals at one time. It's not really about that as much as it is the sense of working together and working toward to the goals. We'd sure be happy to count you among us. : )

Feisty56 wrote on November 16, 2014, 11:38 AM

Of course you can be added! I think most of my enjoyment in this challenge is the camaraderie I feel with those who, like me, work toward these goals. If we reach them, that's great, and if not, there's always next month.

Feisty56 wrote on November 16, 2014, 11:39 AM

It's a bit fun, though, isn't it? I have to see if I can cajole one of the male members into clerking next month. : )

Ruby3881 wrote on November 16, 2014, 3:08 PM

No suggestions or useful information here. But I did want to take a moment to say thanks to you, Deb, for your tireless efforts to recruit and welcome new members to our community, and to promote and support the work of members on other social networks :)

Feisty56 wrote on November 16, 2014, 10:02 PM

Thank you kindly.

maxeen wrote on November 17, 2014, 10:27 AM

Some nice ideas and I will do as much as possible to join in with the action.

Feisty56 wrote on November 17, 2014, 11:03 AM

That sounds great! Yes, I think you are right -- with the new members coming, we need to let them know what stands for and they can join in if they'd like. : )

Feisty56 wrote on November 17, 2014, 11:04 AM

Thanks, maxeen , glad to have you among us. We all just do the best we can.

BarbRad wrote on November 17, 2014, 9:42 PM

Amen to that!

BarbRad wrote on November 17, 2014, 9:44 PM

Thanks for picking up the ball and taking it down the field, Feisty56 . We all appreciate it.

William88 wrote on November 19, 2014, 1:51 AM

I want to be part of the group

marialy18 wrote on November 20, 2014, 11:07 PM

This really helps as a new member of the site.
My only problem now is the time of having here.I have regular work of employment.

scheng1 wrote on December 16, 2014, 8:47 AM

Maybe I am too new to see that Persona Paper is growing. I just find it very quiet.

Feisty56 wrote on December 16, 2014, 11:51 AM

I apologize for not noticing this sooner. melody23 is the volunteer clerk for December, so I'll let her know to add you to the list. : ) Welcome, not only to Persona Paper, but to Friends of Persona Paper -- the group where we struggle together -- some better than others, lol -- to meet the goals of the challenge.

Feisty56 wrote on December 16, 2014, 11:54 AM

marialy18 , many folks here have obligations other than to write, so each of us just does the best we can -- after all, that's all we can do, yes? I wish you the best of success.

Feisty56 wrote on December 16, 2014, 11:55 AM

It has been a bit quiet of late here. I'm afraid I am one of those who has been uncharacteristically quiet. I am guessing that after Christmas and New Year's, the activity will pick up here once again.

William88 wrote on December 16, 2014, 12:04 PM

How do you use the tag? Lol I never knew that.
