Letting It Ride

I still need to write a personal post for Dawnwriter 's A-W Category Challenge , so I thought I would write about a milestone I reached quietly this week. In fact, it happened when I wasn't even looking!

I think it sort of crept up on me overnight while I was sleeping. At least, I discovered it in the morning.

I had been waiting for it to happen, you know. I could see I was close, but I wasn't sure when it would happen. Soon – maybe a few hours, maybe that day or the next. But watching a counter on your computer screen is about as effective as watching a pot in hopes that it will boil!

So I went away and did some writing and interacting. I did some offline stuff and tried not to think about it. And when I came back, my progress bar was all filled in: I had reached cash-out point on Persona Paper!

It took almost exactly five months to earn the 5,000 coins – or approximately 1,000 coins per month. In that time I've written 90 posts here on Persona Paper, which is considerably less than I've been doing on the other site. I suppose I really ought to step things up here!

It's a little disheartening sometimes for the earnings, but I am investing in this site in the long term because I believe in this community and in the vision of the admins. I value the transparency of Persona Paper, and the fact that the admins have always been right on top of things like sudden growth spikes, spammy comments, or plagiarism that could drag the site down.

So rather than cashing out now, I'm letting my investment in Persona Paper ride. I'm waiting for elitecodex and MaeLou to raise the exchange rate, but I'm also banking on the efforts of folks like Feisty56 and LoudMan to recruit more members and stir up some activity here. I believe that Persona Paper has potential, but it's up to all of us to see to it that our hard work here pays off.

Let's see what we can make of this community!

Congratulations. I think your effort and commitment are truly commendable because at the moment, this is more for love of writing than any chance of making a considerable earning.

So much better than that other site. Oh howdy! Congrats on the milestone. And may more to you. Hopefully they start coming faster for you.

How exciting! I like that this has a lower threshold for redeeming than some of the other sites.

I am not up for a challenge yet as of now. I have lost much of my enthusiasm for challenges after I was kicked out for no reason in another website.

Good luck with the challenge.

I'm with you, and my coins are also staying in my bank for now. I do believe in this site. I badly want it to succeed.

Congratulations. It's always good to reach a milestone. Onward and upward!

Congratulations on reaching the milestone. May you have many more such milestones creeping up before you know it :)

I agree with you completely and have also decided to not cash out yet...I just hope when Persona becomes more attractive we aren't inundated with the riff raff from other sites...

I came to this site in hopes of making about the same as I was making on Bubblews. It didn't take long before I realized that the real draw is not the immediate money, but the community and its admins. I do hope it also pays off financially, but yes, it is a labour of love :)

I've buckled down somewhat when it comes to turning up and interacting, at least. And I am trying to post more often. Hopefully that will start paying off :)

I am finding that to be so too. Haven't been over there much. I hope to be active. One most every evening.

Ruby3881 wrote on November 12, 2014, 9:21 PM

Well, it still takes a good while to get there! But if we all step up our activity we will all earn faster :)

I'm sorry to hear you had trouble on another website! I've heard the other place is banning certain countries altogether. Could that be the problem, do you think? If so, it's definitely nothing you did.

Ruby3881 wrote on November 12, 2014, 9:35 PM

Well said, Barb! I think those of us who've been here a while are agreed: we want to see Persona Paper succeed because we believe in what it stands for :)

Ruby3881 wrote on November 12, 2014, 9:36 PM

I am hard at work on the next 5,000 coins! Thanks for your contribution to the first 5,000 :)

Ruby3881 wrote on November 12, 2014, 9:41 PM

I do hope so! For this month, I am trying to get at least one article posted for each category on Persona Paper. After that, we'll see!

Ruby3881 wrote on November 12, 2014, 9:42 PM

I think right now the low exchange rate and longer time frame are keeping that type away. But yes, we do have to give some thought to keeping things that way once the site picks up momentum :)

BenRyanLee wrote on November 13, 2014, 3:06 AM

I think starting from now, there are more people coming over here.

carolscash wrote on November 13, 2014, 7:41 PM

Congratulations! I never realized when I joined this site that it would take that long to reach my payout, but I see that it is going to be a much longer time that I anticipated. However, I really enjoy the site and since I don't have as much time here as I would like I do what I can and appreciate the small earnings. I know that it will add up just like pennies do.

Ruby3881 wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:47 AM

There do seem to be a lot of new folks, but I'm not sure many are sticking with it once they arrive. My notifications aren't picking up so much :(

Ruby3881 wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:48 AM

That's a good approach to take. Persona Paper is really a long-term investment for a lot of us :)
