Introduction for lauraconstance1991

I recently graduated from Temple University with a degree in communication studies. Since graduation I’ve been working at Whole Foods Market in Philadelphia, where I work in the seafood department. Although I am currently working in retail my ultimate goal is to work in the communication industry. There are many things that I enjoy doing, but my longest and most-loved hobby is writing. I have always had a strong imagination and as the oldest of many cousins, it was my job to tell bedtime stories (which I always made-up). It is the easiest and most difficult thing that I do in my day, easy because it brings me joy and comes naturally, and difficult because I am an obsessive perfectionist. I have won several awards, the one that I was most excited by was the fourth runner-up for Bucks County High School Poet Laureate. It thrilled me because it returned me to sharing my writing, after an era of hiding it from others. I also love to travel. I was born in Maidstone, England which is a large town roughly an hour outside of London. I moved to America when I was thirteen, and, I immediately wanted to learn Spanish to be able to understand the other immigrants in school because I knew that they felt as lost as I did. Throughout my life I was raised speaking bits of French and German, so learning a new language wasn’t a new concept to me, but I had never fallen in love with one the way that I did Spanish. It was that love that lead me to Ecuador, when I found a program run through the University of Minnesota that would give me the opportunity to increase my language skills whilst working in an indigenous community. My fascination with travel ties into my love for psychology and anthropology. I enjoy studying the way that people think and am intrigued to see the different factors that make up a person’s culture. My favorite foods and drinks are the ones that remind me of where I’m from. This might seem contradictory after discussing my enthusiasm for travel, but
