Though I've been eating healthier overall I'm not sure I would be able to stick to something like this. I've heard mention of the Paleo diet, but have never taken the time to research it. Thanks for the info.

I recently bought a book on the paleo diet but haven't had time to read it! Thanks for the summary.

Interesting. I have seen the Paleo diet mentioned here and there but never looked into the specifics. The food varieties remind me of the Mediterranean diet, but there are some differences as well. Let us know how this goes for you -- and wishing you the best of success.

does this diet also involve eating raw meat together with the raw herbs, nuts, vegetables etc.?

Our cavemen ancestors ate a wide variety of foods - but not all on the same plate! Our ancestors ate what was in season which meant that they gorged on specific foods when those foods were in season and moved on to the next food as it became available. The Paleo Diet is a refined version of this - and no, I don't follow it!

I am on the Paleo diet, it's wonderful... lots and lots of greens, no raw meat, all cooked. I eat either pork, chicken, turkey or fish, lots of vegetables, lots of fruit, nuts and lots of water.

I can see why there would be little sugar - at least not in the form of refined sugar. I guess I hadn't expected there to be little salt, though...

Cavemen eat a lot of meat too. I think that is not suitable for modern lifestyle.

There's no such thing as a "cave man". While some individuals may have lived in caves, I'm sure, that's not the same thing.
