Diet or Die!

Well maybe too harsh but it is true. If I want to live longer than I have to start my diet . After 2 months (Sept. and Oct.) of continuous parties and fiestas has taken it's toll. All the left-over foods had to be eaten instead of wasting. Also less exercise.
So I decided to start a diet and I am sticking to it (please help me pray I do!) So far I decide to lessen my food intake and no rice. So I started yesterday Nov. 3, 2014.
Breakfast will be this instant oatmeal . My doctor said it is ok as long as I won't add extra sugar. It tastes good as it is. These are the 3 different flavors so far. I won't buy the chocolate but I'm looking for the strawberry flavored.
For lunch I decided to cook vegetables or any other viands but no rice. I also bought some fruits like apples and pears. Yesterday I had chopsuey with liver. made enough for my lunch and dinner. Today I bought cucumber with cherry tomatoes and chicken, no rice again.
Another approved from my doctor, cereal, not the commercialized sugary ones. I can have this for dinner or breakfast or both. Actually there is a 2 week plan to help loose weight using this. Eating this for breakfast and dinner. Lunch is your protein but no rice.
Going on a diet is not easy nor is it cheap. This has been my worry, the expense . But then I realized if my daughter will be leaving soon, I must get healthy for my sake and my mom. So I have a few weeks yet so I hope I can push through with this. Just got to tighten the expenses.
Less rice will be a big help and the mild exercise I am planning like walking , stretching and bending. I can't do big heavy exercise yet, slowly but surely I'll get there.
Maybe by Christmas I will achieve my goal, a Christmas gift to myself. So after a day and breakfast with no rice, i actually feel better. I even had exercise yesterday, walking around the cemetery .
Wish me luck!

Good luck with the diet. I've been doing Weight Watchers for a bit now. I'm losing, slowly.

Stick with the walking, if nothing else. The first couple days, you might be a bit sore but it's worth it. Might I suggest, while you're out walking, to keep your eyes up, off of the ground?

I did suggest to add a bit physical activity like walking as well. Just dieting make the weight come back as soon as you stop.
