My MNF Week 8 Bet is on...

My MNF Week 8 bet is on...

nothing!!! Decided to not make a bet just for the sake of making one. Save my bankroll and myself some agony and despair! LOL! Anyway, last NFL season, I limited my bets to just 100. LOL! That didn't happen though. Still managed to finish last season with a profit but it would have been more if not for some haphazard bets.

Right now, I'm more disciplined with my bets and if I don't like anything on the board on a given week, i can simply walk away and not make 'action' bets.

Game now is at the third quarter with Washington leading Dallas 10 - 7. Game line was Dallas -10 and the total was set at 49. Really can't trust the Cowboys to be double digit favorites even though they have the best record in the NFC East. Plus, overs are always golden in MNF games but it seems the game will go under unless both teams start scoring crazy in the second half. People who took Washington +10 are looking good right now!

My NFL Week 8 bets went...

2 out of 3!! Not bad. Up by a good profit so I'm happy. I won on Kansas City Chiefs -6.5 and New Orleans Saint money line but lose my Philadelphia Eagles +2.5. I'm still up over all so really can't complain.

Anyone here places bets on NFL or any sports for that matter?

I am not a gambler but my son in law likes to place the occasional bet, mostly on the rugby teams he supports. My husband says he is "jammy". In local slang, that means he is considered to be lucky, as he generally makes a profit. I was taught that only the bookmakers make a profit all the time!

Many years ago I placed a few wagers, but found that even if I picked the winning team correctly, I'd lose out on the point spread. It's all interesting to me, but I no longer put my money on the line. I hope come the end of the season you will find yourself with a decent profit for your efforts.

My husband spends a lot of time figuring out sports bets. Sometimes he makes the bet. I can't follow any of it!

I'm for the Eagles (my previous home) and the Panthers (my current home), but I don't bet, I just root for them.

Sometimes rooting for your team is better than placing a bet on them.

What sport/s do you follow?

Hopefully, your husband wins a lot!

Feisty56 , thank you. I'd like to end up with a decent profit. Those point spreads can indeed be tricky that is why other bettors stick to just picking out the outright winners.

Placed a couple of bets on rugby myself, usually in the NRL. Bookmakers do make profit but the really sharp bettors do end up winning as well. It is the recreational and 'action' bettors that get the short end of the deal most of the time.

He won $900 once! Smaller wins from time to time. But mostly it's cheap entertainment for him.

I rather use my money for investing in the stock market.

Always nice to come out in profit, I don't bet very often but have been known to occasionally

I can't share my teens' and son-in-law's passion for AFL games. I just thrill at their excitement on their winnings. Congrats about NFL Kansas City win! allen0187

No, I don't place bets on games, and usually only watch the super bowl. Wait, we are talking about football, right? or is it basketball, or hockey? emoticon
