Category Challenge: Animals

The first category under my Category-Challenge is Animals . Since this is my post, I get to lay down the rules and will include insects, birds, reptiles and arachnids etc under it too.
I like and respect animals but only in their natural surroundings. I mean I wouldn't want to see a snake in my living room or an alligator slithering across my backyard. A lizard crawling on my bedroom wall or a spider in my kitchen sink are also big no-nos. Butterflies are beautiful when they flutter in the gardens and birds look perfect flying outside.
Pandas, camels, elephants, rhinos, foxes, lions and cheetahs are all amazing animals and I wish we would not hunt them so greedily or shrink their natural habitats for them with such scant regard for their well being.
I have been blessed with four children so I do not need any extra howling, scratching or stampeding creatures in my home and I have enough hungry tummies to take care of to even think about keeping dogs, cats or parrots as pets .
However, if I ever think of having an animal species in my house, it will be to have a nice aquarium with some colorful fish in it.
well that's my post on animals. I hope you enjoyed reading it:-)

There are only three of us so we enjoy our pets. We had a cat for 12 years. He just died this month. We also have a 2 and a half year old dog. He's a mess but we love him.

I see that you are a true animal lover, and respecterer of all animals/creautures. I couldn't be me without a few dogs by my side.

Love the challenge and will be doing it when I get home. I adore my little Yorkie and two cats but keep the reptiles and rodents FAR away. Yuck.

But for the challenge, you have to write one post under EACH category, even if you don't know anything about the topic.

yes i enjoyed reading this article and i agree with you that animals are at their best when they are in their own environment or habitat!. i think its also cruel to place them in a zoo to attract people and to earn money but if they are placed in a zoo for protection against extinction and for propagation then 'm all thumbs up for it!

I also have my hands full with four (hungry and sometimes howling) children!
We are a pet-free home at the moment, despite our love of cats and some dogs. I've often considered having a nice, big aquarium full of fishies. And more recently I've given thought to the possibility of breeding budgies. Yes, I'm quite insane!
