Stop Doing This On Facebook: Timeline Your Every Move

So we know that there are not official rules of Facebook other than the terms of use they request you sign. However, there are some personal etiquette issues that come into play. If you've ever had a really annoying person in your Facebook feed, then you know just what I'm talking about. The problem is that most people don't realize they are being annoying when they are.

So here's part of a series I will call "Stop Doing This On Facebook". We'll begin with: Timeline Your Every Move

Don't Timeline Your Every Move

Do you post that you just woke up and now you're having your morning coffee? This new brand is a little bland. Now you're showing us your wardrobe options for the day. Updating your status as you leave the house. I hope you're putting that phone away while you drive.

Now you're at work.

Now you need a bathroom break.

Spinach in your teeth at lunch.

Just stop it.

I'm not saying you can't ever post about what you're doing during the day, a meal you have just prepared or other personal details and information but we don't need you to document every single move you make throughout the day.

Agreed --- this type of frequent posting about life details is annoying to others. I often think to myself that this type of poster needs to have a life rather than make a life posting so often.

I get a kick out of the ones that say, "leaving FB for few" then "hey I'm back." Sometimes I think, "Well who cares!" LOL. I agree. All those play by plays of a persons day is soooo not interesting!

Just stop it."

Hahaha. How many times has this ran through my head?

hehe Yes, sometimes I go through my feed like "Wut? o.0"

somedsatisfied wrote on October 22, 2014, 12:24 AM

haha Those are the best. :)

Maybe that is the problem. They have too much free time to post about what they're not doing, rather than do something. hehe

Agreed. I rarely post there anyway anymore unless I have something important to say or share.

The only ones that have any interest in that kind of stuff are the B&E guys...OK, men, they just left for the symphony, we have plenty of time to break in their house and rob them before they get home.
