Introduction for Katherina201

Hi everyone. I am retired, if you consider my age and I am receiving Social Security, even though I never worked at any one thing long enough to retire from it. I have done various things, teaching, sales person in an up-scale department store, read water meters for the county, picked fruit, did piece work for a doll company, mowed yards, owned a window washing business, was campaign treasurer for a successful candidate for State Representative, and was an officer of an environmental organization that sued a developer and the state to stop the issue of a permit of regional impact and won. I have always liked to spend time sewing and crocheting. I mostly sew doll clothes and crochet afghans. I have tried many crafts but always return to these two as they are my favorites. I enjoy all types of ethnic food and had sampled many prepared by fellow students while at college. I consider Italian and Greek my two favorites along with the Southern US dishes.

Welcome to the community here at Persona Paper. The membership has been growing steadily in the last few weeks, but we are yet few in number compared to more established sites. I hope you'll find this an enjoyable site to post and interact.

I suggest, if you haven't done so already, that you connect to the site's moderators, MaeLou and elitecodex . They keep the membership abreast of site news and are promptly responsive to questions or concerns.

That is nice way to share your introduction. I have never had these cuisines. Right now, I love to have Indian traditional food and Chinese fried rice. I just love these two.

Katherina201 wrote on December 17, 2014, 6:37 PM

Fried rice is one of my favorite foods. Anytime I would get sick, chicken chow mien was my comfort food. The Italian and Greek cuisines just have more dishes, overall, that I like.

Welcome to Persona Paper, it sounds like you will have a lot of experiences to share with us!

I love Italian food and southern style dishes, although I have to admit, I've never really tried greek dishes except Gyros.

Lol! We have more in common than just crocheting and camping! I used to design Barbie clothes and costumes, but didn't sell many of them. They were too labor intensive. I designed the cutest Wizard of Oz costumes, but ran into trademark problems when I wanted to sell the sewing patterns. Your diverse selection of jobs will provide you with lots of article resources!

VinceSummers wrote on December 29, 2014, 3:19 PM

Won't you soon write here? An introduction is but a teaser.

Katherina201 wrote on December 29, 2014, 7:30 PM

I made clothes for the 18" girl dolls and sold them on a popular on-line site. I was featured on someone's blog and had a lot of orders for a while. So many of the patterns say not for commercial use that I grew leery of continuing. I have just put in for a small grant for a small group of the senior women in our church to crochet and knit lapghans for the homebound. It will relieve us with the problem of raising funds. We'll see if I get it. I feel very confident I wrote a good purpose and description of the project.

Hi, Katherina201. I will be interested to read your articles once you start publishing. You mentioned that you like Southern cooking. I have a lot of recipes published, but at this time they are all on HubPages. They were among the articles sold by Squidoo to HP. I'm thinking I may move some of them here, as HP wants at least 2,000 words, and there is only so much one can say about a recipe.
