In Debt Yet Again, by Guiness the Cat

Hello, this is Guiness the Cat, and once again I have had to go into debt to buy cat food.

It's not that I haven't earned the money. I have. It's that once again, my at that other site has not been paid on time.

My last two redemptions were so late that I had to take out two loans, one to buy cat food and one to buy insulin. I personally try to practice wise financial management as much as possible, but food and insulin happen to be two very vital things for diabetic kitties, you know. I was able to pay the loans off when the echecks finally came in, but it took a lot of emails to get paid. I don't know how humans think this redemption stuff is supposed to work, but that sort of thing just doesn't jive with feline wisdom.

My special powers of feline perception have a very bad feeling about this. I'm not purring right now. How am I supposed to save up for a special kitty-deluxe RV to take all my blogging kitty friends in the Professional Cat Bloggers Association on an around-the-world RV tour if I keep having to take out a loan every time I get hungry? This is just upside down and backwards.

Sincerely, Guiness the Concerned Cat

Guiness, that RV sounds like a distant dream at this point, but who knows? Maybe the stars will align just so and if you hold your tail just right, the next payment may be just around the corner.

Dear Feisty,

I'll have you know that the RV is in fact NOT a distant dream. By my estimation, I only have about 495,287 more posts to write in order to buy it, give or take a few depending on the mix between different sites and whenever that other place decides to pay me.

Sincerely, Guiness the Broke Optimist

Guiness, my redemption is late too and I am not happy. I hope Debs will give you a loan again because that insulin sure is vital!

MegL wrote on October 8, 2014, 8:03 PM

Guiness, it's not right for ANYONE to be left wondering where their next meal will come from, never mind their insulin.

i have an idea. Are you good at catching mice. You can start a business in the neighbourhood emoticon

bestwriter wrote on October 9, 2014, 12:41 AM

You can catch the mice and place them at the entrance and for each mouse you can charge a fee emoticon

Kasman wrote on October 9, 2014, 5:36 PM

Even though I am President, Secretary, Treasurer and sole member of the Association of Bloggers against Cat Power I sympathise with your predicament especially since the time from redemption to payment was recently increased by five days and now stands at (according to Bubble Ooze) 35 days. bestwriter 's idea is a good one - you and your evil feline cohorts could finance your RV trip by working your way around the globe. Just don't come anywhere near me! :)

This is Guiness the Cat. It's a good thing I don't have to buy insulin very often. All I have to worry about is starving to death.

I hope you get your redemption soon, my email came through to say my echeque is pending tonight so hopefully yours will appear soon

OK No problem we will leave you out but then don't ever plead that you want me and my army to get rid of mice that will get to your place as a result of our chasing them from the face of the earth emoticon

I think we humans are feeling these late payments, too. I just read a post from their support that those in the US, UK, and Canada will be paid after about 35 days, but those in some other countries who haven't proved they are reliable writers will now have to wait 60-90 days for payment.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 10, 2014, 2:23 AM

This is Guiness the Cat. We haven't had mice in quite awhile. As far as the rest of the neighborhood, I think the ninja kitty next door would have the mice covered. She already owns the snake, rabbit, and bird population.

This is Guiness the Cat. My wonderful feline cohorts and I are indeed planning on working our way around the globe. Personal appearances, speaking engagements, book signings, meet & greets, TV and radio, magazine and newspaper interviews. I'm sure Entertainment Tonight will cover it all here in the US.

And we are definitely planning a stop at your house. Like I warned--um, suggested before, stock up on tuna.

This is Guiness the Cat. Maybe Persona Paper will snag a whole new crop of excellent refugees in the process.

You better woo her and have some kind of partnership before it is too late. Imagine Guiness with no food. I don't think that should really happen. :)

MegL wrote on October 10, 2014, 3:17 AM

Reliable writers!

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 10, 2014, 2:02 PM

Reliable writers who can write!

Kasman wrote on October 10, 2014, 6:27 PM

bestwriter has just admitted that you DO have an army so i will be paying a trip to my nearest zoo (in Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh) to stock up on my supplies of tiger urine. Sprinkled around my house this is the only known deterrent to all other felines - the only problem is collecting it! :)

bestwriter wrote on October 10, 2014, 8:06 PM

This is Guiness the cat. To what extent would you go just to keep us away. Think again. We are cute and slowly you will get to like us. Give it a try. :) I suggest that you go through the animals category here and you will read so many cute stories about the likes of me.

BNelson wrote on October 10, 2014, 8:48 PM

When I win big on the lottery tonight I will send you some money for food Guiness.

Kasman wrote on October 11, 2014, 6:08 AM

You can't fool me by pretending to be all cute and cuddly - I've seen what you do to mice - and I know that you are simply biding your time and building up false confidence in us humans until the day comes when the order comes down from your Mother Ship to complete you evil feline plan to take over the Earth!

bestwriter wrote on October 11, 2014, 6:16 AM

I will not do to you what I do with mice and that much I can promise. If you still think I am evil so be it. Bye for now. I have work to do.

JanetJenson wrote on October 11, 2014, 8:17 PM

Well, Guiness, I was so sad to hear all that that I jumped with all four feet on the keyboard and whacked out a long response, but Janet's computer must have been hungry too, because it ate my response. Do you want I should send you some lizards? Poof.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 11, 2014, 11:28 PM

This is Guiness the Cat. That will be very nice, thank you. I did finally get my email, and after only five days. As soon as it lands in PayPal, I can pay of my loan.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 11, 2014, 11:30 PM

This is Guiness the Cat. That would be very nice. The lizards I have here are very boring. I caught one once and played with it for awhile, but then it decided it wanted to stop playing. In fact, it stopped doing everything. I don't know why.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 12, 2014, 12:18 AM

This is the real Guiness the Cat. I can speak for myself. Please don't impersonate me.

bestwriter wrote on October 12, 2014, 12:36 AM

I was only saying nice things about you. Fine then. :)

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 12, 2014, 12:46 AM

This is Guiness the Cat. I'm always receptive to flattery. Just be you. Thanks.

JanetJenson wrote on October 12, 2014, 2:29 AM

Hey Guiness! I have heard that lizards play dead, but the only ones I ever saw that looked dead were actually dead.

Guiness, Queen Kitty knows about debt. She ended up in debt over her little cord chewing issue. She's still working to pay off the first cord; it will be a while before she has them both paid off.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on February 4, 2015, 1:33 AM

Dear Queen Kitty,

I thought I told you to hide the cords behind something so no one would notice. Silly kitty.

Sincerely, your financial advisor, Guiness the Cat

Guiness, I tried to hide the damage, but the humans noticed that the computer wasn't recharging. They uttered some very foul things regarding the matter. - Queen Kitty
