The Boundless Energy of Youth
The other day as I was watching the lively puppy interact with the lounging cats, I got tired just watching him. This was one of the few shots I got of the puppy at rest. You can see another one in The Gang Was Amost All Here . Otherwise he was running at full speed as though something was after him, though nothing was.
The young of most animals, including us, have so much more energy than we have at the other end of life. It's no wonder that young mothers can keep up with toddlers a bit better than great-grandmothers can. I remember trying to keep up with my baby brother when I was twelve and he was two. I was much better at it than my 38-year-old mother was. My brother could go almost as fast as the puppy in this very short video below I made on my porch.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have that puppy's energy ? I could sure use it.
