A Happy Dilemma: So Many Options

In the last week or so here at Persona Paper, I have seen a surge in the number of both writers and posts in my Activity stream. Older voices have become active again and new voices are mingling in with the regular postings of my favorite connections -- both those who have also taken up the challenge of Friends of Persona Paper and those who are friends of Persona Paper by their actions and activity. It's almost become a deluge!

There are any number of online writing sites available to writers at any given time on the Internet. To my way of thinking, Persona Paper stands tall among them because of the unique freedom here for expression as well as the site's standards of quality, i.e. being spam-free.

The up-surge in postings has left me with many options for reading on different topics and gaining a widened perspective of events and life experiences. The surge has also meant that I spend most of my time on-site in reading and interacting with others -- a rewarding experience.

My dilemma? I find after interacting, I have little time or energy to write my own posts! While on one hand, I am daily meeting the goal of FOPP to be on-site at least 15 minutes daily (as if 15 minutes would even scratch the surface of all the posts there are to read), I have not been meeting the goal of posting at least once per day. Have no fear, I will work it out.

In the meantime, I am happily enjoying the sense of community and camaraderie here with my fellow writers.

I wish one and all the best of success in all that you do. : )

I find it hard to think of a post every day. I'll work on it though.

I find it difficult to think of topics while I'm sitting in front of the computer. I find I can think of all sorts of things when I go for a walk or even just standing still to do the dishes. I keep a small notebook and pen with me to jot down ideas as they come. You can also search under "writing prompts" on an search engine and find ideas to get your creative juices flowing. I hope one of these ideas -- or something you find on your own -- gives you some assistance.

Yes, being able to use multiple images in posts at Persona Paper is a valuable advantage for some topics and posts.

I can pretend I'm working while catching up on my posts in the morning :)

The key seems to be get away from the laptop for a moment. lol

Commenting is useful too. Sometimes, it's more necessary than a new post. Other times a post is VITAL.

I have not been here long but have also noticed a surge in new posts and other activity. Great observation, this is a very positive thing. ; )

I hear you there, but we both know it's for our best good overall to push ourselves away from the computer and do something physically active for a bit. I'll admit it goes against my natural grain, but I am trying to build healthier habits slowly but surely.

Feisty56 wrote on October 6, 2014, 12:37 PM

Hmmm, for whom do you have to pretend to work?

Feisty56 wrote on October 6, 2014, 12:38 PM

I agree with you; the interaction here is an important part of the whole. It's what keeps me coming back.

Feisty56 wrote on October 6, 2014, 12:40 PM

It is a positive thing, isn't it? From my experience, activity and interaction begets more of the same and pretty soon the site is taking off like gangbusters! Glad you are here and enjoying your experience. : )

Bethany1202 wrote on October 6, 2014, 12:43 PM

Thank you, so nice to see so many familiar faces. : )

Well, the wind is blowing and the laundry needs hanging, I could carry on down the road for a walk. :D

myself.

I'm glad you're having a lot of variety to read these days. I'm trying to get more active myself again.

Kasman wrote on October 6, 2014, 4:33 PM

I am also seeing an upsurge in activity and this is very encouraging. I am still keeping an eye on the statistics for daily posts and active members and will be writing an update within a few days. If the trend I am seeing continues then . . . but I will leave that for the post!

Feisty56 wrote on October 6, 2014, 7:00 PM

And I'm so glad you are. I enjoy your photos and have been wanting to ask you if you are selling any of them? Many are of quite good quality.

Feisty56 wrote on October 6, 2014, 7:02 PM

I am looking forward to that post. I count on you too keep us updated and point out the trends. You are super duper in my eyes for doing this.

I do have some for sell on Etsy, Viewbug and on my Facebook page. I've sold a few on Etsy and in person.

A happy dilemma indeed. May this kind of dilemma present itself every single day for every single member here :)

Feisty56 wrote on October 6, 2014, 8:54 PM

It's motivating and inspiring, isn't it? Onward and Upward, Together!

BarbRad wrote on October 7, 2014, 3:20 AM

The way you interact is a joy and inspiration. one great thing about this site is how easy real interactions and conversations are. You know that someone will actually be reading what you write and that they will often comment. That feedback is important to both writers and friends. We are both here.

AliCanary wrote on October 7, 2014, 4:58 PM

Yeah, my "Recent Activity" notifications have gotten really huge! It's a good thing, of course, but from now on, I probably won't be able to comment on every post--maybe just one per person. But I'll still give page views, even if I don't say anything!

AliCanary wrote on October 7, 2014, 4:59 PM

Hee hee! :D

Feisty56 wrote on October 7, 2014, 8:10 PM

That must be a good feeling, to know others enjoy your photos enough to purchase them. I wish you the best of success. : )

Feisty56 wrote on October 7, 2014, 8:21 PM

Thank you kindly. : ) At the other site, I simply became too overwhelmed to reply to comments sometimes. I really enjoy the easy way to follow comment threads here. I like to think that the people with whom I interact are my friends -- folks who I might invite over for coffee and conversation if distance wasn't an obstacle.

Feisty56 wrote on October 7, 2014, 8:22 PM

Yes, I am finding the same thing to be true for me. I read all the posts, but leave a comment only on one or two as time allows.

BarbRad wrote on October 9, 2014, 8:02 PM

i feel the same way. Of course, I'm so busy in the virtual world I rarely have time for lunch or sharing a pot of tea with anyone anymore.
