How to Make a Vampire Costume for Men

Vampires can be sexy, scary - or both. As a general rule, vampires wear mostly black (for Halloween, anyway!), but you can choose to incorporate red or purple accents, if you wish. It's pretty simple to make a vampire Halloween costume for men, but here are some tips to get you started.

What you will need for your vampire costume:

  • Black attire
  • Black cape (optional)
  • Black shoes
  • White makeup
  • Black (or dark) eye makeup
  • Vampire fangs
  • Fake blood (optional)

How to make a vampire costume for men:

Step 1: Get dressed in your black attire, whether you choose black pants and a black top, or if you want to get a little more spruced up with a black suit. Don't forget to wear some black shoes.

Step 2: Now is the time to do your makeup. If you are uncomfortable wearing costume makeup, then you probably shouldn't be dressing as a vampire for Halloween. Begin by applying some thick, white makeup (the kind you buy at a costume store). It can be messy, so be careful not to get any on your black clothes. For a more dramatic effect, line your eyes with black eye makeup. You don't want to overdo it - you are a man, after all - so a thin line along the lash lines will do.

Step 3: Fake blood is optional, but it will help your mortal friends detect what you are more quickly - before it's too late. Plus, it will help you get more into the Halloween spirit. Dribble a little blood from your mouth down your chin.

Step 4: If your hair is short, you probably don't have to do anything with it. If it is long (shoulder length), try to part it down the middle and straightening it. For medium-length hair, slick it back with some hair gel.

Step 5: Now pop in your fangs, you seductive vampire, you, and throw on your cape! Get out there and lure those unsuspecting mortals to your dark, dank basement.

Vampires have become all the rage these days, with the emergence of the Twilight books, movies, and all those television shows that everyone is hooked on. They are mysterious, but intriguing, creatures. If you're looking forward to dressing as a vampire this Halloween, you're in luck; it's not difficult at all to make a vampire costume for men.
