Hamilton Beach TrueAir Room Odor Eliminator Review

We have been using the Hamilton Beach TrueAir Room Odor Eliminator for almost a week and what a difference this $25 item has made. The unit is designed for small rooms about 10 x 10 but we are using it in the basement which is considerably larger.

The TrueAir Cleaner is not large measuring just under 8" x 8" x 8". It plugs into any outlet. the front, and both sides suck in dirty air through filters that are almost the size of each side. Make sure not to put it right up against a wall because clean fresh air comes out through the back vent.

Set up was simple. I just had to remove the bottom panel and take the three filters out and remove the plastic from each one, before replacing it. There is a scent cartridge that slides into the bottom if you want to use it. It says it is a green meadow scent. I used it and did not really notice much of any scent at all. I just noticed cleaner smelling air which was what I wanted anyway.

The cleaner has a low and high setting. I use the high setting which is super quiet. The low setting I can not even hear. A surpising amount of air goes through the unit for such a small amount of noise.

Refills for the filters are about $10 for the set of 3 on Amazon. The box says they can last up to 3 months but I think it depends on the room conditions. There is a small sensor to tell you when it needs to be replaced but I am not sure exactly how it works as it is not electronic. I think you get a new one with each set of filters. Perhaps it measures how dirty the filter is by how much force is being pulled through it. There is a line that increases the longer the filters are in use. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the TrueAir by Hamilton Beach to anyone looking for an odor remover. I am considering getting one for our laundry room too.

Such a thing could be handy for those who keep pets. Some animals tend to smell a bit and the owner doesn't always notice - but visitors do!

I appreciate this review. I've seen these unit before, but was skeptical how well they would work. I'm sharing your review on social media and with friends and family members.

Sounds like something nice to have in a house to keep the air clean and fresh. A definite must-have in my opinion!
