Improve Persona paper with new feature suggestions

Perhaps this should be titled the not-so-new but still desirable features. I remember years ago the Compuserve CB had a who is online now feature that let you know who is live on the site. This might be fun to have in the header of the page to see who has been active in the last ten minutes or so with a link to their profile. I know every idea can not be implemented but I think this is a good one that will strengthen the sense of community here. If you have any other ideas that you would like to see improve this site, feel free to tag them along in the comments section.
I would also like to see the author names restored to the summaries on the home page.

I agree with you -- a list of who is online or has been recently would be a useful feature and a further promotion of the sense of community onsite.

The author names are there but you have to run your mouse over the pic...

There are probably lots of features which could be added to our site to give it more of a community feeling - although I think that there is a strong sense of community here already.

That is a good suggestion so we could know who are online for better interaction.

I think those are both excellent suggestions. I always like to see who wrote something before I click through.

Wish I had some suggestions but can't think of anything at the moment.

I've seen other sites use the feature where it shows active users, great suggestion.

This is a good idea--I would still love to have a Featured Articles section on our profile pages, too.

I am not in favour as I prefer to be a silent performer (lol)

Well then, maybe it could be options per user's desires, similar to the facebook chat feature.

I am new here and have been reading a lot of great ideas! It looks like the admins do read and listen to the community. That is so refreshing. I like your suggestions!

This place may not be perfect but you are right about the admins, they do have their hands on the wheel.

this will be interesting because we can have live conversations with people instead of waiting for hours for a response.

This would be pretty handy. It seems like this site is a little closer to a message board than a blogging site. More interactions!

I agree that would be an excellent feature and I would love to see it too!

That might be a useful feature since you can determine when your own followers are online. This may help decide when to publish. Presently you can see the last date people logged in, but not the exact time.

I think this idea of you is a great one, it is hard to interact with people who is already sleeping while you wait on their responses LoL! But I think the front page also shows whose active or not,
