It's About Time Debbi Came Home, by Guiness the Cat

Hello, this is Guiness the Cat.

I'm quite sure you have missed me greatly, and have been wondering where I was. And the answer to that is nowhere. Absolutely nowhere. Nowhere at all. I have been right here.

Apparently cats don't get vacations. That is a complaint I intend to bring up at the next meeting of the Professional Cat Bloggers Association, but that's another topic for another post.

Not only was I left all alone to run the house and take care of all the business for an entire week, Debbi unplugged the computer before she left. I could have pushed the on button with my paw, but without thumbs, I could not get the plug into the plug-in no matter how hard I tried. To make matters worse, she took the laptop and the cell phone, too. That seriously impeded both my writing career AND my ability to communicate with all my feline cohorts in the PCBA about our plans to take over the internet, and eventually the world.

You'd think that would have been bad enough, but she took the new camera, too, and I did not have my picture taken for over six days, seven hours, and eight minutes!

Debbi is finally home now, and I have taken over the luggage. As soon as I have it all thoroughly covered in cat hair, I will settle in to straightening out the rest of the things that are amiss here in the house. I will catch you all up as soon as possible on all the important news you have been deprived of for the past week.

Sincerely, Guiness the Cat

I'm glad Debbi is back, too. But I'm wondering who gave you your shots while Debbi was gone.

This is Guiness the Cat. I tried to be a good boy and watch my diet while Debbi was gone--which, unfortunately was way too easy because the company who came to visit me every day were stingy with the junk food like Debbi told them to be. Debbi checked my blood glucose when she got back and it was right at where it normally is, so I guess being deprived of junk food was a good, if not fun, thing.

Are you planning to make Debbi feel guilty by staring her down with the "hurt kitty" look? My Bob Cat used to do that to me whenever I did anything he didn't like.

Scorpie wrote on September 30, 2014, 9:19 AM

You didn't miss anything spectacular. Welcome back your royal fluffiness.

See what happens when you are out of the loop? New competition moves in...

This is Guiness the Cat. I'm more into the "sad kitty" look. It works very well.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on September 30, 2014, 2:58 PM

Royal Fluffiness, huh? I do like that title. Sincerely, Guiness.

This is Guiness the Cat. I can chase your squirrel up a tree any day ... assuming Debbi lets me out the door.

Yay! Hey Guiness, I see you had the run of the house like my Sophie does at times. She lets us know when we get back if she is happy or not. The care taker in charge when we leave, does give her a lot of junk treats when were're gone and all of her toys seem to of been hidden under the couch as well. Oh, you and my Sophie look related. I will have to post a picture of her for you.

Welcome back to you Guiness and to Debbi.

This is Guiness the Cat. If Debbi would shake off her post-vacation lethargy, she'd get a lot more accomplished. She's back, but she ain't exactly all here, you know?

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 1, 2014, 1:59 AM

This is Guiness the Cat. Unfortunately, my company was too scared of my diabetes to give me too much junk food, even though I told them it was perfectly fine and wouldn't hurt me a bit.

Oh Guiness ... shame on Debbi, leaving you like that. And with no computer, camera, or anything. I think you should probably ignore her for a couple of hours, and then she'll apologize, give you treats, and promise never to leave you again. That should do the trick. Purrs from ~ Lovey, the cat.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 1, 2014, 2:57 PM

Dear Lovey,

I have Debbi trained pretty well. All I had to do was give her the sad kitty look, and hug up to her hanging bag. Being such a cute kitty makes everything so easy! Please don't tell her how much fun I had entertaining company while she was gone.

JanetJenson wrote on October 3, 2014, 2:19 AM

I was just telling Marty the cat who blogged on here a while back that I was left with a computer but no wifi while my humans were off taking train rides and other less important stuff than me! Phffft!

JanetJenson wrote on October 3, 2014, 2:21 AM

Guiness you have really gotten my little Poof the Cat agitated with agreement, so much so that Poof forgot to ID the last comment!

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 3, 2014, 2:50 PM

Dear Poof,

There is just no excuse for that. Train rides? Oh, please. What's a train ride compared to purrs?

Sincerely, Guiness the Cat.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 3, 2014, 2:51 PM

This is Guiness. I've done that myself a few times, Poof. It's hard to remember sometimes that you have to dumb things down for humans. They're not mind readers like we cats are.

chatombreux wrote on October 9, 2014, 12:58 AM

Wow, Guiness! Debbie left you behind and my mind left me behind as well all week. I didn't realize how long I'd been gone from here! I guess I needed a mental health break. I hope you took advantage of your solitude to get a mini vacation out of it.

Guiness, the Fuzzy Trio travels with us. They are well-versed in staying in hotels. They do get offended, though, that we've yet to stay at a place that offers a 'nip mouse on the pillow or has room service that will bring a good cup of catnip tea.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on February 4, 2015, 2:10 AM

This is Guiness the Cat. And that is the reason I refuse to stay in anything but a 5-nip hotel.
