Useful and Free Google Chrome Browser Extensions / Apps

This is just a bunch of useful Google Chrome Extensions/App that everyone might find very useful and might give ease on your web browsing. All of these are tested by me personally and I encountered zero problems with them so far.

Google Dictionary - This extension allows you to double click a word in your browser and a message bubble will pop out with the meaning

StayFocused - Problem spending too much time on the internet? Use this app to remind yourself you've had enough.

Flashblock - An alternative to adblock. Blocks flash contents on a website. It disables those autoplay video/audio on certain websites.

Tiberium Alliances - Bored? Try this strategy game. It is browser-based and free to play. Meaning you can play it on your Chrome browser. You might need the lates Flash player version to play this game.

LastPass - This is an incredibly helpful password manager extension. You can save all your usernames and password and it will autologin to your sites and sync your passwords with them. It's also very secure as it has a bunch of fail safe features to protect your passwords. Tons of customization here to match what the user wants. Forgetful ones (like me) may find this very useful.

Awesome Screenshot - Lets you screenshot your webpage and edit it without opening picture editing progams such as MS Paint or Photoshop.

Comment Save - Keeps tracks of your comments/posts as you type. Allows you to quickly look up the last one you wrote & your history. Very useful if you're like me who's quit active on a number of websites. Lets you see if someone replied to you etc.

FVD Video Downloader - Enables you to download audio & video from various websites EXCEPT Youtube.

SuperSorter - If you're like me that has tons of webpages bookmarked this extension is a life saver. Sorts all of your bookmarks, in all your folders into alphabetical order. It sort folders too & if you like it will put the folders at the top of the list above the bookmarks.

Bookmark Sentry - Detects your Bookmarks for dead or duplicate links.

Design Something - A 3D modeling app running on your own Chrom browser. Easy to use and powerful. Good start for those who wants to learn about 3D modeling. A simplistic version of a 3D modeling software.

My Chrome Theme - Lets you create your own personalized Chrome browser design.

Lastpass is an awesome extension that I heavily rely on... one of the first things I install on a new computer right after Chrome :)

That bookmark sorter sounds like a really cool program and since I have thousands of pages bookmarked it really sounds like it would help me!

I will have to check out the Super Sorter. I end up with way too many bookmarks and can never remember which folder I saved them to. Some of that other stuff looks cool too. Thanks, good research.

Google has many very useful extensions. I use several and the only problem I have experience is that if too many are enabled at one time it can slow down your browser. Apart from that - go get 'em!

These extensions for Google Chrome almost make me want to change from Mozilla Firefox, but not quite. Sharing to social media, though, to help spread the word.

Bookmark Sentry sounds like a useful extension. I often end up hiding a bookmark in the wrong folder, and then I end up with duplicates.

I'll be checking out SuperSorter very soon. My one complaint about Chrome is that I'd not found a way to make the bookmark function really work for me, so this sounds like it could possibly solve my problem. Thanks for the heads-up! emoticon

hipsterpadawan Very good information. I will have to try some of them (Awesome Screenshot, Comment Save and BookmarkSentry) . I agree with Kasman , the problem with Chrome is that a high number of installedextensions make it slow due to memory consumption/leaks.

The dictionary one sounds useful to me. I still use an old fashioned dictionary, book form
