Pikes Peak, America's mountain
Our trip to Colorado was great. I thought it was going to be vacation but I was wrong. Vacation is when you relax. This was a sightseeing trip and we got up every morning…early I might add, and drove somewhere else, up a mountain or to a worthy view. In the evening or late afternoon we would find another place to stay. We stayed in five motels for five nights.
One of the memorable drives was to the top of Pikes Peak. My husband had attempted to make that drive 25 years ago when he and his best went on vacation and the road was closed because of snow. It was open this time and wehad one beautiful drive to the top. It’s only 16 miles of winding road. It was sunny with snow flurries at the summit. Beautiful.
He did call his best friend from the top of the mountain and surprised him. They had a nice little chat and were both glad at least one of them had finally made it.

I don't know what I am doing wrong with images. I tried to add in a bigger shot as an edit, but there is still only one.

Beautiful photo! We hope to visit Colorado and Montana one of these days soon. I know I'll be busy taking photos the whole time. By the way, I did the multiple photos tutorial just a min. ago.

Sounds like a great trip. I often go hillwalking in the Munros of my native Scotland but I have never driven up a mountain before!

Is that what it is called 'Pikes Peak'? I am saying this because I too must have been up there with my nephew. He did take me to Colorado Mountains and even asked me if I had difficulty breathing. There was no snow then.
And as for adding images, I see AngelSharum telling you that she has added a tutorial. It is quite easy and even elitecodex has a tutorial http://personapaper.com/article/8690-multiple-images-per-post-are-here

Actually this is a view from the top of Pike's Peak not a picture of the mountain itself. Thanks for the info about tutorials.

I did enlarge the shot by opening in a new tab. It does look more beautiful at the larger size.

We drove over the mountains and crossed the great divide - it was covered in snow but so beautiful
