My First Giveaway Reception

As you might have seen in my profile, I have created a fictional character named Matronista. It is a play on the words Matron and Fashionista. Personally, I am far more matronly than fashionable. But I liked the name and was very surprised that no one else had taken it yet on social media.

Matronista just celebrated two months of life. She was created on August 17, 2014. Since then I have been promoting her on Facebook and YouTube mainly. Of course, I was quite excited about it and felt for sure my sisters would at least support me in it.

But that is the rub of the situation. My first giveaway was on Facebook and I asked my two sisters to like the page. Once I received 50 likes on the page, I was giving away a really great snowflake nail polish. I had accidently ordered two of them. I asked my sisters about just liking the page, and to my surprise neither or them did it. So I asked them again. One of them finally liked the Matronista group and the other one liked a picture of someone else's picture of a manicure.

Seriously, how hard is it to like a page on Facebook? Then I asked them to look at my YouTube Channel. Neither of them did. It wasn't just them, it was close friends too. Friends who had asked me to like their business pages, would not like mine. It really shocked me and hurt my feelings. Especially since I have gotten great response from strangers. It is hard to accept this and wonder if my videos are just plain cringe worthy.

I am hosting a giveaway until October 1. If you are not one of my sisters or one of my dear real-life friends, you might want to take a look.

Well, I consider you a dear friend and I've already seen the videos and liked the pages. :) As long as you have fun doing it, don't worry about them.

I love you, Angel! I count you as a sister now. So maybe I will have to recant this article.

LOL, nah it still stands true for the other people.

Aw, I'm sorry you felt your sisters weren't supporting this venture Sharron! It's awfully brave of you to be launching Matronista, and I'm sure you'll find lots of interest and support from other ladies :)
