Breaking into the White House - how easy is it?
I've been seeing a lot of news stories popping up about random people breaking in or attempting to break into the White House. Whether they're malicious, crazy or just obsessed with the president - who really knows.
The latest came from this weekend. There were separate incidents that involved two different men jumping the fence of the White House.
The first one happened on Friday when a man jumped over the fence. He somehow managed to get across the lawn and into the doors of the White House. This case is currently being investigated due to the time that this man was on the campus as well as the fact that he actually made it into the White House. Where was the security?
Not even 24 hours later, another attempt took place. This time, the man approached the gate on foot. When he realized he couldn't enter, he went and got his vehicle and refused to leave.
Both men were taken into custody. The first offender was taken for a psych evaluation due to his mental state.
A few other random incidents (I'm not sure of the dates) happened not too far into the past at the White House. A toddler managed to get himself between the gate poles and was caught running around the lawns of the White House. He was caught and returned to his parents. Another one is a man in Pokemon costume who was randomly walking around the lawns. He was apprehended by Secret Service. You can find more information and even a few videos about these incidents on the internet.
I can't say I would ever have the courage to even attempt to go through the gates. Let alone actually do it!
